It will be concerning for them that Wijnaldum and Milner started that game. That’s a player who is leaving for nothing at the end of the season and one who will most probably transfer out or retire. Meanwhile 60 mill Keita, 40 mill Oxlade Chamberlain, and 30 mill Thiago sit on the bench.

The fans will scream for a midfielder in the summer but FSG could rightly point out that even if Wijnaldum and Milner leave they still have more than enough players there.

That is the biggest inditement for Klopp really. In fairness I think Chamberlain doesn't have a future there. He's nearly 28 and is a long way off it. Someone might pay a portion of his wages on loan, liek a West Brom or whatever, but thats your lot really.

The two that will be surprising for them are Keita and Thiago. They are poor in different ways. Keita was meant to be this all action, superstar midfielder. I will never forget the reds on here, telling us he would not only be the player of the year, but he would have established that he was the best player in the league by the September of that 1st season, he would be so good.He was being built up as almost akin to the greatest player the Premier League had seen, like Messi but on steroids. It was completely embaressing. They paid 60m for him, but with the add ons you get with RB franchises, you are probably not getting much change out of 100m with all the fees due. And he has sat on the bench, 3 years in, behind an ageing Milner. It's been a complete flop.

Thiago is one Klopp has gone out on a limb on. And again, for him to not start either game is astnoshing. You would have perhaps forgiveen him missing some league games, but the thought must have been- that he would play the European games. I can't believe I'm going to do this, but I'll actually defend the lad a bit. He was instrumental in the best team in Europe. He takes a step down to go to a club like Liverpool, who then implode and become essentially a 5-10th place bracket side, and he still can't get into a team, in a big European game, over a lad like James Milner. You'd be asking questions if you were Thiago.

The biggest inditement on all 3 though, is none of them made the team any better. Keita was hideous away to Madrid and had to be hooked before half time. And once Thiago was brought on last night, the pressure was let off and Liverpool hardly had a chance in the last 30. So you can't even say Klopp got it wrong leaving him out. His mistake was bringing him on. Chamberlain was absolutely useless, but I don't think that comesas a surprise now.

As a final aside, they all play in a similar area of the pitch to Sigurdsson, who at 40m is considered a big waste of money for us. Yet 1 was bought for slightly cheaper (but massively higher wages) one is bought on the same package and one was bought for substantially more money while they all operate in a similar area of the pitch. Sigurdsson has scored 23 goals and had 18 league assists in his time here. In 4 years Oxlade Chamberlin has scored 7 goals and has 1 assist in 3 years, in 3 years Keita has 4 goals and 4 assists. And in 1 year Thiago has 0 goals and 0 assists.

Like like for like on goals is those 3 players had scored 11 in a cumulative 8 years and assisted 5 in 7 years. Sigurdsson in just 4 years has 23 goals and 18 assists (so over double the goals, and well over treble the assists). They have been disastrous signings and Klopp has done a terrible job getting the best from them.

You have proved a point liverpool fans think there is good racism (liverpool guilty) and bad racism (liverpool innocent) the truth is non racists want to move forward and racist want the good old days back . I've got all the first hand evidence I need who is the institutional racist club, the local pubs and social clubs are full of them.
