I have a few drinks before and after the game and I know that I can leave the put ten minutes before kick off and in most cases I'll be in my seat for the whistle.

Likewise after the match, I'm usually in the pub to listen to Soccer Saturday finish the last game, so I very rarely have to worry about the first few busy trains.

BMD, with the lack of pubs nearby, is a conundrums as I'd like to keep a similar routine with the group I drink with, but that simply may not be possible.

While do often have a drink in the Ship before a match, we normally get a taxi to our normal pub for at least one; walking from town each week won't be ideal.

But it might be a necessity unless more places open up within walking distance to the group. There'll be options in the ground but again how will that work out?

All this talk of extra buses, increased rail schedules or whether it takes 10 or 12 minutes to walk from A to B, makes me all the more certain we’ll eventually end up with a solution everyone is behind.

I don’t think getting there will be as much a problem as people arrive at different times.
It’s that 20mins after the final whistle that is bedlam.
Considering the coaches for away (and home) fans need to be able to get away quick some linear parking will need to be set up.
Sandhills is dangerous for a surge crowd also, so their needs to be consideration for all that use the train.
There will be car/pedestrian risk on the main route into back into town.
Some serious planning needs to be done, which is further complicated with it being different days/times and only for a certain part of the year.
I think a new realistic consultation on travel maybe needed, especially for season ticket holders who may have a view today of their potential routine in the future.

The getting away thing does bother me a bit, too.

People leave Goodison on all points of the compass. But only half of them are available at Bramley Moore, and there’ll be 30% more people.

On the flip side, there will be more reasons to hang around, and more space to do it in. So maybe the mass exodus will be slowed by that.
 
On the club consultation I spoke about an option whereby a soccerbus of sorts was run from the County Road area so pre match soirée could be taken from the present haunts, Brick, Royal Oak, Springfield and so on.

I have a feeling that Regent Road will be closed on a match day or at least for a period before and after the game.
