Simon Buttle
Player Valuation: £60m
I agree, probably my favourite player overall but he does get away with a fair bit tbh, he is either involved with everything or seems to hide in the corner at times.Wont have a bad word said about Lovely Luca!

That's now how most of the best teams play football anymore. And we were an utter zero in attack playing like that. Grinding out results isn't a long term strategy for me.
For me we're getting beat at home because we can't control games and score goals. I mean we lost to nil against Newcastle and Fulham. Even if we don't concede that's 0-0 which isn't good enough either. Defend by offering a threat.getting beat at home every week isnt either.

I think a team with a back four of four CBs and multiple non-progressive midfielders in front of them is very limited from the off. Add in a winger who is really a striker and therefore doesn't do any midfield stuff and I don't know that there is an answer. We lose games because when we lose the ball it ends up in a chance at goal for the opposition. This has happened for years as our players are too slow at covering ground, or too slow getting on to second balls etc. Strangely this has never really been addressed with recruitment. When we had the more solid yet less adventurous back four, this wasn’t as much of an issue, because we always had 4 players back who were quite narrow and decently mobile.
it was a base to build upon at the very least. Then you can start to identify ways to create chances (which they hadn’t).
Here he is playing that same ball into the box you spent 2 pages telling me makes Iwobi special.Digne would be wonderful for us if we had a functioning system. He comes off as crossing and nothing else because nothing links together.
Favourite Andre Gomes moment last night...
Literally a 2 yard pass ffs

Haha I don't, but most of why I believe in Iwobi is stats based and all of you don't believe in stats so that makes it basically an impossible sell.I think by now we know @TheBigIguana doesnt work in sales.
Also that Alex Iwobi isnt very good.
Lets hope Alex Iwobi's agent can do a better job than @TheBigIguana
I could be wrong but I think I remember saying that Digne and James were the only other players who do it. I mean if I didn't I'm saying it now, the three players in our team who are above average at passing the ball forward and into the box are James, Digne and Iwobi. Here he is playing that same ball into the box you spent 2 pages telling me makes Iwobi special.
Davies put a good ball in and Gomes did that with it.
"Nothing links together"....![]()
Move them how??Move the goalposts again
Also here is the previous post mentioning Digne and James as the others who do it, just in case you didn't believe that I had previously made this exact point.Let me rephrase: why doesn't anyone but Digne or James freaking do it then?
It's about getting the ball into someone's feet in a dangerous area. It doesn't matter what the length is. We don't do it enough, he does it more than anyone but the two I've named, he's useless. It doesn't track for me.
Its standard wide link up play. A 3 yard ball.I could be wrong but I think I remember saying that Digne and James were the only other players who do it. I deleted that because I checked and you had mentioned digne.Move them how??

I really don't disagree that it is pretty much standard play, the problem is that we are not doing that bare minimum level most of the time. We have a player who can improve us in this area but we don't want to use him and instead we get a very disjointed team. I wouldn't even object to moving Iwobi on and trying to find better this summer but we need what he brings now even if eventually we need it at a much higher level.I deleted that because I checked and you had mentioned digne.
Still a 3 yard ball that even your mum could play.
