Everton Summer transfers 2021

Not even sure our deadwood would be good squad players for Europa League next season if we qualify for it. A lot of crap needs shovelling out. Gomes, Iwobi, & Bernard need moving on. All 3 players who failed under Silva and have contributed very little under Carlo and not taking their chances when given. Move them on please.

We are getting away with it against in some matches with borderline players. We really need better starters and good quality on the bench.

Spot on. Also he's hardly going to say we need 5-6 players in the Summer whilst trying to motivate the squad to finish in the top 4.

We need a RB, RW and a CM to go straight into the starting XI. Anything else is competition and depth.

Think we need a Left sided winger too, if Digne gets injured we are back to the new right hand side look next season

I think what European Competition we're in (if any), will be a huge factor for who we bring in, personally.

We all know working for Carlo is a huge draw, so lets just seize our opportunity, and I fully believe Moshiri will back him in the Summer, to build on what's been a fantastic year this year.

Still think its Right Back, Right Wing, Striker as the three main things we need to pick up.

If we signed Gilmour + Aarons + Antony before any sales then we'd have had a brilliant window.

I actually think even considering selling Holgate is plain stupid.

Theres literally no logic at all to it...neither financial nor on the playing side.

Gibson i could see moving on but equally can see him on loan for another season.

Could you see either Keane or Mina being our starting centre backs in 2 or 3 seasons time?

I cant.

This summer is the ideal time to sell Mina as he only has 2 years left. Its also perfect to sell Keane as hes becoming massively overrated...and overvalued.

The way people talk hes prime Nesta lol

Id sell both of them this window...we would only need one replacement.
Keep Keane, get rid of Mina. Imo.

Former is 2 years older, but on less ££, another HG player, not as injury prone and ultimately a much better player.

That said, as you say in 2/3 years Keane won’t be starting for us either. But he’s currently our best CB, imo.

Holgate can fill in RB & CB but won’t ever be starting for us if we’re a top 6 side. Will he want to play backup?

Aarons, Gilmour & Antony (not seen much of him, I have to admit) would be great- but can’t imagine us getting the three of them.

We can just leave our rather solid defence alone, alternatively

I know Carlo said we only need 2 or 3 players but I think in the cold light of day it's probably more like 5 players.
There's no way anyone can look at our performances this season and think we only need 2 or 3. Like @bilyaletdinov_ said maybe 2 or 3 starters but we really need much much better bench options apparently because we have played some awful football this season and the reasonings everyone gives are "our squad is crap"

We won’t be selling or signing centre backs ffs, it’s the one area we’re fine in for a while

Funnily enough though if we do get europe and Carlo plans to keep using the "flat back 4" going forward against the stronger sides we could do with a 5th CB even if just some galoot who's happy on the bench.

Only takes 1 of our CB's to be out for us not to be able to play that system (Mina out now means we cant utilise it against Chelsea) and european football will mean more games and more injuries.

3 new players significantly changes the look of the team. Those "crap" players become squad players, which makes all the difference. Sigurdsson, gomes, iwobi as subs are good options to have, rather than being dependant on them week in week out. Iwobi did a good job off the bench against Southampton. Sigurdsson (and Allan) changed the game yesterday. You don't need to replace half your team in one go to make a difference.

Our CB are top 6 quality as a whole. I will hand Yerry an extension.

Players I expect to leave in the summer:

- Bolasie - £70k off the wage bill
- Besic - £30k off the wage bill
- Walcott - £100k off the wage bill
- Tosun - £5-10m, and £70k off the wage bill
- Delph - nominal - and £80k off the wage bill
- Bernard - £9-10m - £120k off the wage bill
- Kean - £40-50m - £70k off the wage bill

That is another summer of a lot of outs. But that is nearly £30m a year in wages saved (add in bonuses etc) and up to £70m in transfer fees. Potentially £100m saved. Crazy that, even if my figures aren't 100% accurate, its the fact we are paying so much for players that contribute very little!

Best part about it is that we’re fighting for Europe now without the help of any of them (except Bernard at a push) which means absolutely anyone brought in with those funds is just an instant upgrade to the squad as a whole.
