Everton Summer transfers 2021

We just aren’t. You’d be better dealing with it now to save any disappointment.
That's sort of what I expected.

I mean I get it but if Brands was fully confident in Pickford last season he'd have been fine to roll with Lossl as a "backup" and not wasted time with Olsen. Robin's presence suggests Marcel was unsure of leaving it to Pickford and no real alternative and this season won't be enough to change that because Brands has a memory. I hope you all are surprised. And that doesn't mean I think we're breaking the bank for Donnarumma or something.

I can't see Raiola letting Kean come back here. I would fully expect a formal transfer request if we don't make arrangements with PSG.

I can't imagine that there will be a shortage of Italian suitors, though their funding situation is questionable, so I don't know that we can touch off a meaningful bidding war.
I'd be very surprised if he came back too. I more just meant that the situation over back up striker is all bit confused with him still being our player and Josh King here with an option to extend.

Whereas right back and right midfield are 100% positions we need to be concentrating on as our current options are not anywhere near good enough. Centre mid we need too but I imagine we might need to move people on before buying given we have quite a few on big wages there already.

Some news, Simms and Baningme have been getting rave reviews at their loan clubs.
Beni Baningime has played only three minutes as a substitute since joining Derby County on loan from Everton.

The 22-year-old midfielder joined the Rams on transfer deadline day, February 1, and he was one of five loanees to arrive that day.

No mate.

Whoever is brought in, I hope they add some pace to the side. We must be the slowest team in the top half of the league.
DCL, Rico, Allan, Holgate, Godrey, Mina, Doucs, Digne, Iwobi, Davies are all pacey players.

This "We have a slow squad" meme is tiresome, we have some players whos game doesn't utilise pace, it doesn't mean we have a slow squad.

Why is everyone so sure that we aren't moving for someone? Is there actual info out there or are we just speculating?

We spent £30m on him and he’s comfortably on over £100k pw now.

Because of this there’s two reasons we aren’t selling him and replacing him with any real quality.

1. No one is paying £30m nor £100k pw for a player who gets so much bad press.

2. As no one is paying that money for him, we aren’t going to be spending £15/20/30m and substantial wages on someone to compete with him.

Our realistic best hope is coaching his mistakes out of him and getting him the right support for the mental side of his game.

This may all change if we pull off a string of results to get top 4, as in theory he would’ve played reasonably well and have a good Euros to bring his stock higher.
