Everton Summer transfers 2021

We tend to spend roughly around £50-60m in transfers under Brands with any additional transfer fees so if we take into account that Bernard, Kean and Kenny have been linked to permanent moves.

Come the summer I think we'll have that same figure with Covid related losses applied.

Granted if we achieve European qualification, we will have further funding but the impact of Covid will still be very real and effect a lot of clubs wanting to sign our players.

Some of the numbers I've seen spouted are laughable frankly.
I do not think Usmanov lost too much money during the pandemic
You do not hire Ancelotti and give him a Lada to drive
Money will not be a problem
60m plus sales will be the minimum spend

to be honest, i dont think we need to replace pickford realistically

yes he makes a few mistakes every season but i can't think of any keeper that has consistently been good in the prem for years now. Even the so called best keeper in the world de gea has made about 50 mistakes in the past 2 seasons. World cup winner Lloris has done a few howlers and just when Chelsea thought they signed a decent keeper he clatters into DCL and gives away a pen.

at the end of the day, Pickford has also had some really good performances, spurs and liverpool this season in particular. consistency i guess is an issue but i would rather spend 50 mil on buying a better right back as a priority or a better right midfielder (pushing rodriguez into a central position) or a backup striker than a goalkeeper tbh
As much as the fans might want to i don't see Pickford going anywhere tbh.

He helped Rennes get Champions League last year, mind.

Saying 'he's flavour of the month' is a bit daft. He's a good player and Leeds got him for a good price. He's created more chances than James, for example, in the league, and has as many goals and more assists.

Not saying he's better than James but he's a very talented player. He's probably playing in a side right now that suits him, but he's completely horrified most defences he's played against so far.

But, we'll never be in for him, as they'd want about £60m.
Heitinga got a world cup winners medal .

I just prefer to see Richarlison upfront rather than stuck out on the left, he always seems much more effective.
Proble with 2 upfront is the other midfielders have to compensate with James lack of pressing
I am more than fine fine with James doing no pressing once he spreads sexy football all over the pitch but he needs to be covered
4-2-3-1- gives cover for the central areas where James would play
Allan-Doucoure
New RW James Ricarlison
DCL
I agree I think Ricarlison is a better finisher than DCL but to play him upfront either with or without DCL would cause problems elsewhere on the pitch
I am not a fan of 3 at the back unless the players are brought up in the system and you would need 4 ( 2 each side ) exceptionally good really fast WBs , as its a very demanding position to play week in week out

Fair enough, we will see come the summer.

I think you will see subtantial reduction in prices for both if Watford don't come up and Ings doesn't sign a new deal. Remember he's 29 and hasn't had a great season. THe figures I'm giving are certainly best case scenario, but hope the broader point, that there may be better options available than a Raphina who is at the top of his market value.

Doucoure is probably a good example of this. Had we whacked £50m on him, I would imagine people would view him very differently.
I know you have this idea that prices will drop, a lot, its not something I buy into personally.

I think most prices will stay high, but clubs will buy less.

And we wont see come the summer, cos I doubt Ings leaves Saints and Watford will probably get promoted.
