I heard someone say the other day that Mourinho struggles to get things back on track when his teams are having a poor run, that got me thinking, that was the same for Martinez,Koeman and Silva things started to go wrong and it just seemed to get worse and worse they had no idea how to fix it, that’s where Ancelotti is different there’s been a couple of tricky times since he has been here but he has changed slight thinks and things got better, Moyes was god at that to. That’s why I believe Ancelotti is a cut above most of the rest. Even Klopp hasn’t an answer atm. We are blessed to have Carlos here.
Klopp has the answer
Unfortunately the PEDS are all held up at customs since Jan 1 st

I really like Carlo's tactical pragmatism but think 3/4/1/2 should be our default formation with our current personnel.

I'd have :

Pickford ( who I'd like to replace)

Holgate
Keane
Godfrey

Coleman ( to be replaced )
Allan
Doucoure
Digne

James

DCL
Richarlison.

For me that's a really well balanced team although I acknowledge that 3 a the back had been hit or miss this season.

In terms of summer recruitment we need as starters a RWB and GK.

Branthwite and Mina give decent back up at centre back with even Coleman and Digne able to play RCB and LCB in an emergency.

Coleman has been a fantastic player for us but should be replaced whether we play 4 or 3 at the back. He is fine as back up.

Digne is the perfect LWB. Is Nkounkou acceptable back up?

We need cover in midfield. Davies has improved enormously but Gomes isnt consistent enough for me. Gbamin....who knows? I'd like to see us for for a really dominating player as a back up for Doucoure but who can give us legs , carry the ball and pass.

Sigurdsson is unlikely to have many suitors and I'd be happy to retain him as back up to James but only in the no10 role .

DCL and Richarlison have the potential to be an outstanding partnership and hurt any team. I don't think it will happen but I'd be very happy to see Kean return and be rotated in a front 2. If we did that we would need to sign a Calvert Lewin type back up. If Kean goes then clearly it brings in a big fee and requires a replacement.

I'd like to see us sell / release Pickford , Kenny , Delph , Iwobi, Bernard.
I will leave it to football intelligentsia on here as to who the replacements would be.

Coming from the same region as Ancelotti in Italy.I’ve always been a massive Carlo Ancelotti fan,I’ve been closely following Everton both on television and on this forum. It looks like Carlo and Everton is the perfect match.
I’ve always been under the impression that Carlo has never been fully given the credit he truly deserves in England for the exceptional managerial career he’s had thus far. It seems like his achievements in the game have been vastly underrated because of the talent made available to him.I personally think it takes a exceptional talent to keep the squads that Carlo has had available happy. The man is a truly world class man manager.Carlo likes to build from scratch and improve the football once he has the confidence in his squad. Carlo has a plan A,B,C and D. They don’t always work but he’s never scared to try different things. Carlo is also a fantastic coach who improves players both technically and tactically.
Where Carlo really comes through is that he is a truly classy and humble gentlemen. Carlo doesn’t make excuses. He doesn’t get too carried away when he wins or when he loses. When reporters try to make a story out of something that’s happened.Carlo has a classy way of killing the story dead. Everything he does is done in private. That’s why he’s so respected by the world class players he’s managed in the past.Just look at the list of players that Carlo has managed in the past. It’s truly incredible.
when you compare him with another world class manger in Mourinho.Which one would you rather have representing your club?.
I‘ve always looked at Everton as a real football club with real passionate supporters. Please be patient. There is always going to be ups and downs in a long term project that your football club is going through at the moment.
Carlo and Ferguson is a great combination.
One thing is for sure. Carlo will leave you in better shape then he found you.

Cheers mate, we love him.

If you are Italian, then congratulations on your English. I will apologise for our use of it on behalf of the forum.

Imagine accusing somebody of not watching Carlo's Milan side.

I KANT SPEK

Do you really think Ancelotti consistently played a very deep back four at Milan, PSG and Real though?

His full backs were often miles up the pitch.

Mina and Keane could rotate and possibly Branthwaite for Godfrey but we would need pace in those two wide areas to enable the system to work with Keane/Mina.

We would need a player with pace to cover Holgate and/or Godfrey. Really Branthwaite would cover either Mina or Keane.

Need a RWB/RB for sure.

Centre mid we need one DM/CM and if Sigurdsson (im assuming gomes and delph go) goes then a second.

Also a keeper + Kean back ;)

Thank you for taking the time to post this here.
All I can say is that we are delighted to have Carlo with us, and so is our chairman!!
We can all see the improvements in individual players since his arrival. We have been amazed at the way some of our players have come on.
He is a great ambassador for our club and his management of the press is so clever. I understand everything you have said and recognise all those characteristics in him. He is an absolute gentleman and funny too.
He has huge respect from everyone here and I’m sure he will be with us for quite some time.

Ps my favourite Carlo Everton moment was the game v Tottenham with the cup of tea. Hilarious!

That's a good point, didnt think of that.
WHat was criticised as tinkering is actually trying to find balance, improve mistakes or just make the best use of limited resources, but he's not drifting or settling thats really good.

Hi Carlo. We know x

Making a case to overtake Moyes in one stroke for me. His first real season. Beating Arsenal, Spurs(twice home and away), Chelsea, Leicester unbeaten against the RS and 2 without reply against them as the reigning champions at Anfield. Notable wins v other European competition like villa and wolves. And plenty of the season to go. Few points off champions league in March. Game in hand.

Get Europe on any level and its Kendal- Catterick- Royle- .... then Don Carlo.

After 1 season. Could have Royle in his sights could the Don.

Haven’t played villa yet this season.
