I think the next step is bringing in midfielders that are comfortable in possession, and who won't be harried off the ball by teams that press them. To me, what really sets the better players apart is being able to move the ball quickly in tight spaces.

Someone with the range of passing to turn defence into attack wouldn't go amiss, either.
Damnit, more succinct, but exactly what I meant about midfielders that we need.

Davies has done a decent job of covering the first part of your post.

Ive mentioned them before but Camavinga, Kamara and Guimaraes would fit the bill nicely for us. Good passing, composed, bit of action in them and good tacklers.

So if we are after Aarons and Godfrey is the trump card in getting him maybe if we are after a keeper we could get Henderson and use Godfrey as the ace in the pack on that deal too as they are mates from their season at Shrewsbury in League 1.

I'm still not sold on Davies in terms of his quality on the ball. He's been putting himself about a lot recently, but it's not easy to maintain that level of motivation every week.

Should always look to squeeze as much as possible out of academy products, though, so there's still plenty for him to do here.

I find it a little peculiar that people are unhappy with him being (at best) 3rd choice CM at the moment...if Gbamin can recover Davies becomes 4th choice.

One or two new centre mids push him to 5th or 6th choice.

Homegrown quota....

If we got an offer for £12mi+ id sell but find it odd people slate him when hes not really going to be a starter.

Its ok, neither was Zat 3 weeks ago, he wanted to sell him for 12m and now hes building the team around him.

How’s Sarr getting on? He was all the rage last year/during the summer. Still worth a go?
Seems to be doing ok.

But if we want any chance we probably need Watford to not get promoted.
