Would prefer to replace Delph with someone a bit younger and with more creativity. We have Davies, Allan and Doucoure as real engines at the moment, what we're lacking is a more mobile version of Gomes/Sigurdsson who can add a few goals.
I'd like both! Gana is different enough from Davies, doucoure, Allan and even gbamin. He would allow us to play different midfield shapes and styles, maybe useful in those games where we're constantly getting out passed.

Agreed. Replacing Delph with Gana would be lovely.
If we had only enough funds to get the positions that we desperately need IE RB and another attacker.

Amd we also needed an aggressive tackler in midfield, then great loan Gana. But we don’t need that type of midfielder anymore. Davies has proved the last 6/7 games. And I know it’s a small sample size, he’s better than gana in the 6 role.
he’s technically better, he can get away from a player and at the moment is not giving away silly passes. We also have Gbamin, obviously he still has a question mark over him, but apparently 6 is his preferred role.

And in Doucoure and Allan we have aggressive box to box midfielders. While Doucoure can be frustrating giving the ball away at times, I think he’s better all round than gana. And Allan is too IMO.

Gomes( who I would sell) offers a play making midfielder. Amd siggurdsson amd James can play the number 10 role, if Carlo wants to go down that route.

I think we do need another midfielder. Amd hopefully we can rid of Gomes & Delph.
And we need another box to box midfielder, who has the physicality of Doucoure, but is a much better footballer.

The Onana-situation has a couple of interesting aspects. First of all Ajax is appealing the 1-year ban. Second, Onana is only 24 years old which means he has a long career ahead of him anyway. Furthermore he is at the end of his contract in 2022. And as long as none of the European giants arent in the market for a goalkeeper, we might be able to get a worldclass one from Ajax.

About Ihatarren, he is widely considered the biggest talent at PSV. He seems to have some weightproblems though. On the upside he doesnt get along too well with the PSV coach and (I think) his contract runs out in 2022. He would be a good investment and a good stand-in for James.

Donyel Malen has pace, is young and can be played in multiple positions uo front. His physique might need some improvement though.

A year ago I would also keep an eye out for Stengs and Boadu at AZ. They have a difficult year now but are still very talented as well. But the step from the Dutch league to the PM is always difficult and even more so when concerning players from the tier 2 and lower teams

And for those of you who are scared because of the Klaassen fiasco, keep in mind that Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt also came from Ajax. And Klaassen never was a toptalent. Ajax has a bunch of interesting youngsters at the moment. Would be worth it to keep an eye out for them. Brands will certainly have that covered though.

I dunno about France, but I've been saying it for a while now, don't buy overpriced players from Premier League clubs, be the 1s that make them Premier League players.
Need to weigh up the fact you could end up with a hole in your accounts if you buy a dud.

For example this one 17m gamble or 50m sure thing.

Remember Sir Alex saying he could have gotten Rio from West Ham for a fraction of the cost but would rather let someone else take the chance of whether he could step up and then pay more.

I do like the look of Malen, but I feel for the position I’d see him playing I’d prefer Leon Bailey (if it was possible) Antony at Ajax looks a real talent too
