The diamond might be able to work with Davies at the base Allan Docuoure either side and James at 10, but in order for it to work you need really good footballers on the ball at full back and in midfield and I’m not sure Coleman and Docuoure on the right side could do that. We’d need a mirror image of Digne on the right side to get it to work.
Agree was talking with my brother today about this, sort the right side out with players that are comfortable on the ball and we are looking good.
I like Dacoure for the energy brings but as soon as he is pressed he gives me kittens, same with Seamus, has never been the most technically gifted and Holgate is not the rb answer so whenever a team presses that side we invariably cough up possession or hoof.
If we add a couple more with technical ability to knock it round the rush we can start dominating possession a bit more and take some heat off the defence.

Add a quality RB, another option in midfield, Right Wing and we hurt people.

Add a GK, another Striking option and win the lot.

If, at the start of the season, we had been offered joint 6th in the league (level with Liverpool) after 24 games, with a game in hand (potentially only 2 points away from a Champions League spot)), a win at Anfield and a chance at an FA Cup semi-final we would have taken it without a second thought! Although mistakes have been made, overall Carlo has delivered more than we could realistically hope for in his first season. I'm more than happy with progress made and excited about the future.

We've never won the premier league.
We've only finished 4th once in the premier league.
We havent won a trophy in 25 years.
Amazingly you will read a few on here that think ancelotti should have erased all that in a season and a half. Not surprisingly none of them in here posting in the last 48 hours. Its a very poisinous way to post and whip up dislike towards the manager. And i quite enjoy the way they are shot down in flames so often.
Dont like the premier league era being seen as football but i'll go with it for now. When you put it into perspective of the premier league era we've done virtualy nothing other than play in it every season. How anybody expects a manager to come in and not have a few rough spells in changing that is so unrealistic and bordering on delusional.
I want ancelotti here for another few years. Im not expecting a title. But what he will do is make the club competitive.
If you cant appreciate what Carlo Ancelotti will bring here over a 3/4 year spell then i dont really know what you ever will.
Post away after the next loss. Enough on here to let you know what we think.

Every day that Ancelotti is here Everton turn more from a basket case into a proper competitive outfit. We need to keep him around as long as possible so that when he does leave we never again find ourselves in a position where chancers like Martinez Koeman Walsh can destroy the club.

This!
Ancelotti has not just instilled a belief in winning, he and the entire management team have started to turn around and improve players that simply were regarded as not good enough by many, including me. How he’s doing it I don’t know but the results and sheer team spirit are there for everyone to see *if they choose*
it took Howard Kendall 3 years to turn around a failing club.
It looks like Carlo Ancelotti will do it in half that time.
But those threads and those people who want Moyes or Martinez etc. Dear God.
We have one of the great managers of all time here. And none of this ‘plucky little Everton’ b**ls any more.

Not to mention we finished 5 once and 12 last season

Seeing his grin when Sky switched over from the studio to his post match comments the other night, makes me think that he’s really enjoying the challenge of managing us.
We are the hardest job hes had.

Managing AC Milan, easy, their name rings out
Real Madrid, piece of urine
Chelsea, who even cares, everybody gets sacked

But us, a basket case of a club, hasn't won a trophy since forever, its his biggest challenge, if he can get us competing at the top, I think he will consider it his biggest achievement.

Absolutely.
In an odd sort of way, there is less pressure at the moment. However, a good summer in the market and the expectation cranks up massively

Also, I think the fact he’s being able to groom his son is another plus for us

1 thing you can be certain of, Carlo after managing the clubs he has, he knows what REAL pressure is, so he wont wilt like some of our previous managers have.

Look at Koeman near the end, doing his best Phil Mitchel impression.
