when the manager and the captain go into the referees changing room to hand the teamsheet in, it’s important that they let the ref know in no uncertain terms that his job is to referee tomorrows game and tomorrows game only, no looking to even the score from the last game or put right any percieved wrongs that the media may feel their red darlings may have been on the end of. If the referee goes onto that pitch with the narrative the whole of the media have gone with since the game at goodison we will be at a major disadvantage before a ball is kicked.

I foresee, the second Everton step foot on the pitch, the ref digs in his pocket and sends all 11 players off after viewing VAR for 10 minutes with Klopp helping. We'll never know what for, but Sky will agree it was probably definetely 100% deserved...
