Couldnt disagree more with this, for a start your maths is way out as far as a points sense goes, loes today and beat Liverpool we close the gap by 3 points.
Today isnt that important, yes be great to win but this week was about the cup, next week is about beating Liverpool.
My maths isn’t off at all.

if we lose today and beat Liverpool, we have exactly the same number of points as if we beat Fulham and lose to Liverpool.

your logic is fine if your only ambition for us is to catch Liverpool. I have other goals in mind. I want top 4 - I don’t care who it’s at the expense of. We need to win tonight to give us a platform to build on, whereby winning one of the next two can really mean something.

Tonight is an absolutely critical match.

I see the must-win crowd are out in force today.

For the record, Everton will never play a game that isn't must-win, you don't have to keep saying it every week lads.

I mean, this is a pretty daft thing to say mate.

Arguing that all games are of equal importance - however that might be phrased - is pretty inane and detached from reality.

There's always a load of optimistic, forgiving stuff among Evertonians when we get a decent result or two. Players who can consistently be relied on to let us down are talked up, has-beens are spoken of as enjoying an Indian summer, and not-good-enoughs are presented as fulfilling their "promise" - something they've been breaking for years.

History has shown the skeptical to be more realistic, unfortunately. Tonight is a massive case in point. Those that are talking us up cannot sustain such talk if we cannot put lowly Fulham away when we've now been presented with the chance to really stake our claim on the European places.

The reality is that this Everton are a rollercoaster side until Carlo gets his own men in most positions. It's wonderful that we are competing, but if we are to seriously live up to the hopeful talk we need to be putting our best foot forward tonight. True, no match is a given in this of all seasons. But circumstances have conspired to present us with the opportunity to earn our place in pundits' discussions of the "contenders". We can moan about bias, which does indeed exist, or we can begin the process of changing minds. The bias exists because Everton have almost always flattered to deceive when push came to shove over the last 33 years. Opportunity knocks again tonight. This is a lovely test for our players. It's a challenge, but one they have to be able to pass if they are to be taken seriously.

No its not...every game you win gets you three points. For what you say to be true, there would be 5 points available if you beat the better teams. Similarly every game you lose is three points lost.
