Everton Summer transfers 2021

Hypothetically, the release clause for Upamecano would be £40m for every other club in world football, release clause for Bayern would be £60m.

Only way any German teams are really going to have a go at Bayern is to stop selling their players to Bayern. Pretty sure other teams do it as well in other leagues.
Probably deep in conspiracy territory, but I am convinced Bayern are juicing. Their work rate is just astonishing. And the links to another high-energy team are evident...

Sport Bild write that Mark Warnecke has developed two special mineral tonics for Liverpool's players, which they are given after every match and training. The drinks are very effective in speeding up post-workout recuperation and reducing physical fatigue. The German paper calls the drinks "secret potions".

Warnecke works with former Bayern Munich nutritionist Mona Nemmer, who is considered one of the best in the world in the field. Warnecke's drinks helped American swimmer Dara Torres post faster times after she had retired at 41 than she had recorded when she was 20.

I assumed your point was "Bayern have spent £40m big bucks so don't expect us to spend a lot this Summer".

Now I'm not sure what your point was.
I wasn't trying to make a point. I was just informing the guys that the lad has gone to Bayern, and that they spent more than they usually do.

Nothing more to it than that.

Will all come out one day.

So what you're saying is players will have release clauses in their contracts with different amounts for different clubs?

I can see that being common practice in transfer markets. For instance, Manchester United or City coming in for Ben Godfrey and we probably add an extra £10m or £20m to the asking price. But I can't see it actually being written into players contracts.

Some players have them in their contracts for leagues. A set release clause in their own league and a lower one for teams outside the league. That's fairly common now.

TBH I didn't realise that release clauses were that common anyway. It's not something you see often, even during the transfer window.

Some leagues have to have them as part of contract law, La Liga for example. Every player there has one.
They have to have a buy out clause which isn't quite the same thing. Clubs don't have to accept offers from other clubs when a buy out clause has been met. Yes the player can then exercise the clause himself, and be reimbursed by the buying club, but presumably there would be tax implications for the player.
