I know my football, not as much as some on here granted but I can’t remember a point where anybody considered him world class or anything more than a good midfielder in a good team who is a bit of a crock.

I think the British media overhyping any foreign signing going to a big club has made Liverpool and probably Chelsea too look like absolute mugs here.

He had a good season last year but Bayern looked unstoppable as a whole. I don’t think he’s the type of midfielder that suits their direct style, they normally have players there that are all work rate and in your face. He’s looked like a snail whenever I have seen him for them and I’m sure I seen somewhere he hadn’t (or very rarely) completed over 20 games a season whilst at Bayern and Barca.
