Yes. and I mean for all the criticism of Walsh, he also bought in Vlasic, Lookman, he wanted both the Sessegnon brothers, David Brooks and Zirkzee. He completed on Lewis Gibson too (who may still have a career). By all accounts he really fancied Robertson, Maguire and Haaland.

The issue is, he was a bad fit culturally with the club, particularly with Koeman as manager. We are not a massively patient bunch, certainly not as ptient as Leicester are. They won the league, and frankly are probably willing to give their club any amount of time and trust now to get things right. We feel very differently to that.

We need to get to a certain level (I.E top 6) and then we can start being more adventurous in the signings. In all honesty though, I do think Koeman was a much bigger problem than Walsh in hindsight. Walsh was just too weak to say no to managers when they started demanding Tosun, Klaasen, Schneiderlin, Sigurdsson etc.
Walsh's problem was knowing what to do with the big money signings. Finding bargains was no issue. But ultimately if Koeman is coming to you wanting Klaassen and you don't think he's any good as DOF you've got to shut it down and find someone who is good which he never did.

I think they need to take you into the negotiating room with Sergio mate, tell him straight. “Listen kid, you got 23 goals in all comps last season. 30 the year before, 33 the year before that. Listen to your body mate, you’re on the decline. Now you can either get on the Carlo gravy train and end your career on a high or end up on the scrap heap at West Ham and dissipate out of the game in a whimper. What’s it going to be Serg?”
£50k a week and unlimited hair bleach, subject to fair use policy, is the highest I’ll go.

Witsel is ours !

Class player but too old at 32?

Manuel Akanji is a player and could be the CB needed to push us to the next level. Him and Godfrey as a CB pairing would be dreamy and we could play a higher line for sure.

I don't know why as every time I've watched him play he's been below par, but I like the look of Dahoud. Maybe it's the small socks vibes

We have Mina, Keane, Holgate, Godfrey and Branthwaite.

Stop trying to sign more CB's for us.

Sorry about that

I do think we are lacking a proper first choice CB from that bunch. The big ball winning unit who commands the back four and midfield. The Ramos, the Thiago Silva, the Dias. The guy who you play every game of the year and who takes you to the next level. Don't think Keane or Mina are that guy unfortch.

I would have thought that one would get the CB and the GK last - they complete the puzzle, and I actually think there are more pressing areas to recruit to (ST, RB, CM)... but if a CB were to become available, would you?

Please no "you don't think GK is a priority?" responses

We will have a set budget this Summer and not even 50p should be used on a centre half.

He's also done his achilles about a month ago. Dahoud is pretty bad imo. I don't see him upgrading from Dortmund.

Reyna is pretty decent so I'd love to see us go for him but at the right price.

It's difficult given our recruitment strategy of years gone by. I look at most positions and consider them a priority for recruitment atm. If we had the money to only sign 3 positions it would be...?

RB, CM and ST for me...

GK and CB next year ;)

DCL, Richy, possibly Josh King

Pickford, Olsen.

Aye, let's sign a striker over a keeper.
