Thanks for the update LCAB. Also big thanks to the mods for the great summary thread which saves me spending most of my lunch in work searching for news.

I'll never forgive the Danish for colluding with the Nazis in WWII but you're a good un.

We didn't. The Danish Government chose to coorporate with the Nazi, officially to save lives. By 1942-3 the Danish Government was dissolved.

My grandfather was a resistance fighter during the war and was nearly caught. But yes the decision to cooperate with the Nazi was a bad one.

Begs the question, all these August deadline day deals we've done the last few years, did we start the negotiations in about March?

Fair play to your grandfather, a brave man indeed.

The co-operating to save lives thing is a bit weak though. I mean, imagine if Britain had done that? I was expecting better from Denmark to be honest, viking blood and all that, was expecting at least some ultra violence on any Nazi foolish enough to step foot on their land.

But they sort of laughed it off, and shared their cheese with them.

Excuse my ignorance but does impasse mean, neither side are budging on thier terms? Ie we won't pay more then what's been offered, and Ba won't lower his demands?

If this is the case, how is it not dead? Presumably we are gonna have to raise our offer which more then likely won't happen?

OK; Update time ...

The ea has hit n impasse .

This is NOT insurmountable , nor is it likely to be resolved by tomorra dinnner .

Thus , they are STILL talking ...

I cannot go into it any more than that as it may jeopardise any deal .

Yous know that its not off .

Im afraid thats gonna have to do for now .

Sorry , like ...

Carry on ..

I just hope that people don't go round judging Everton on the basis of this negotiation. They're still talking which is good, but a negotiation is simply that. They either agree or disagree. Perhaps to save another 57 pages LCAB / THT might want to consider releasing the news nearer a sign on / non sign on.

If thats true Lad , then Im flattered , and stick around , Kid .

It gets better ...

An' lets be honest this Thread has been a Train-Wreck but Im trying to carry on regardless ..

Hang in there Dude ...[/QUO

certainly did mate. usually get links to this forum from toffeeweb so thought it was about time I got involved! I sit on news now 24/7 like the rest of us but nice to get some info from someone in the know. quick question- how do I stick a pic next to me name? cheers

Long time lurker on here, watched all your transfer window posts with interest for the last few years. Cheers for keeping us mere mortals informed. I hear all kinds of stuff, none of which ever materialises, so having a window to someone who does know the score is invaluable. Keep up the good work fella.

Very weak indeed. It was not what the general public wanted - which is why there were many resistance groups, but for the average Dane living outside of Copenhagen the occupation meant little more than coffee and other goods could no longer be bought. It used o be something that was not discussed until recently when it has received lots of critisism.

The Viking blood has been lost for centuries - which is actually a good thing. But yes we owe our lives to the British and Americans.
