Player Valuation: £10m
Waiting and see when he won his first man of the match here lol
He had no choice but to gamble. His three choices were:I'm not saying that's not true, but I find it hard to believe.
Josh King is 29, he could get badly injured at any time, just like that Mangala did when on loan from Manchester City did a few years ago. He only has a few months left from being a free agent. I don't see him being stupid enough to risk an injury just a few months ahead of his last major deal.
I think it's more likely that we have done a loan for FFP purposes, but I question just how 'optional' the proposed purchase at the end of it is? If it is truly as described, Mr King couldn't be taking more of a bigger gamble with his footballing career.
If you're going to sign a player of questionable ability who is way past the age where he's actually going to improve because you're desperate for nothing more than a live body for depth in the very short term it has to be said that the deal we've made here is exactly the correct way to do it. We'd be best served trying to avoid this situation but to get someone on a cheap deal with no risk of him being an albatross around our necks in the future if he isn't very good is genuinely a job well done by Brands. He's here until the end of the season calm down its not like we have given him a 5 year deal, He does well or he is punted, he will do much better than the 27m Tosun.
I think its a good signing, DCL is much improved but im still not convinced he will score with his feet. This lad can use his feet.
Good to see Marcel bringing his enormous network of contacts to bear once again!
No.Question is this guy better than Theo Walcott?
Because i wrote it in a posh Wirral accentHang on how’s this passed the swear filter??
Wow didnt see it coming. Is he any good?
Welcome Josh, NSNO.He had no choice but to gamble. His three choices were:
a. Fulham and a multi-year deal but with the caveat that Fulham are almost certainly going down so more than likely he'd have to exercise his option to leave when they did get relegated and look for a different top flight club or play in the championship.
b. Everton and a 6 month deal with the option to extend it if all goes well. We won't be going down but he also might hardly play here leaving him with nothing to go on should we decline the extension.
c. Stay at Bournemouth in the championship and not play as the team is better without you and never return to the top flight.
Obviously c was right out so it was down to risking it here or at Fulham. I'd say risking it with James Rodriguez on your side is the right call.
