Confirmed Signing Josh King

Thin it's a really good deal for us. He will be highly motivated knowing it's only a 6 month deal. Think it's also shows a sign of the player/confidence he has in himself to make an impact. Apparantly Fulham were offering higher wages and a 3.5 year contract so....
Fulham's contract included a release if they get relegated which is probably going to happen so either way he was guaranteed 6 months.

I'm glad we have an impact sub who can actually score now. Weelllll he used to be able to know how that'll do for me. He's our new king!!!!! (I'm only joshin)

Is not a loan. We've actually signed him for a nominal fee but on a 6 month contract with an option to extend.

I'm not saying that's not true, but I find it hard to believe.

Josh King is 29, he could get badly injured at any time, just like that Mangala did when on loan from Manchester City did a few years ago. He only has a few months left from being a free agent. I don't see him being stupid enough to risk an injury just a few months ahead of his last major deal.

I think it's more likely that we have done a loan for FFP purposes, but I question just how 'optional' the proposed purchase at the end of it is? If it is truly as described, Mr King couldn't be taking more of a bigger gamble with his footballing career.

Honestly not crazy about this signing. This screams panic buy all over it. I'd be more excited if we signed Eze from Crystal palace. What we really need is a winger

He's here until the end of the season calm down its not like we have given him a 5 year deal, He does well or he is punted, he will do much better than the 27m Tosun.

I think its a good signing, DCL is much improved but im still not convinced he will score with his feet. This lad can use his feet.

He's not the most exciting signing but we've at least learned from past mistakes it seems and made a deal that seemingly suits us. While I know a lot of us would've liked to see a few more players in to help push for our league position its easy to forget how poor this window is for finding any value, even more so with covid. Not to mention we've picked up enough dross from this window over the years that we're still struggling to get rid of.

let's hope he succeeds. he will be motivated to perform for the next six months in order to get a contract extension but the form guide tells us that he is an inconsistent player. obviously i don't know, but it seems to me that he was a fall back option rather than our main target. i think his signing highlights the fact that we really should have signed a striker in the summer rather than having to scrounge around the notoriously difficult january window.
