They’ve always been a knackers yard team. Even as far back as Dixie Dean he called them a gang of butchers. Just look at all their good teams, Souness Case McMahon Mascherano Kuyt Gerrard Henderson Fabinho, ever since I’ve watched them they’ve always been one of the dirtiest teams in the league gaining an edge through throwing it round physically knowing the referees will never call them on it. They’ve never ever prioritised flowing football, always physical kick and rush. It’s been effective but they can’t pretend for a moment they’ve ever tried to be a school of science. This team is no different, a bunch of cloggers who run very very fast and throw it around knowing the refs won’t cal them on it.
