Post Mortem? Problems? Crisis?

This web forum is never going to get more visitors than Toffee Web. Because Toffee Web is more of a magazine style site and is more attractive (sorry guys) than this forum.

Its why I think we should challenge them with one of our own.

Because they are damaging our reputation. And I'm defending my club against the ageing (sorry oldies) so-called experts and self-righteous tits over there.

I'm not on about being the biggest. The Everton website has a forum and whenever I've looked in it's been a bit rubbish. I'm tempted to suggest that the web doesn't need another magazine style site. There are hundreds of mods available for vBulletin, why not have an Everton themed social networking site or something if you want to branch out from just a forum?

I've no problem with talking about ways to improve this place, but I'm bored of reading about TW. Most of us came here to get away from that place :)

I think its absolute madness if anyone is saying Moyes isnt upto the job.

The Oldham defeat will have been dissapointing to say the least but great teams and great fans keep the chin up when these things happen and they plough on and succeed. I think Everton will continue to good league and Uefa cup form they have been having. Think the last few games i.e. Arsenal & Oldham have been unfortunate blips in an otherwise very good season so far.

Ghost you have a bad bad obsession with Toffeeweb. Most people on this forum agree they are negative and not representative of true support. But why do you have to labour the point?

So what, leave them to their doomsaying and derision.

You mentioned a scenario whereby someone could go on toffeeweb see the negativity and decide to go elsewhere.

I remember when I first was invited onto this forum by chico, and one of my first posts, I got into an argument with you, because you called me a toffeeweb poster.

I didn't know what you meant at the time, but it was obviously derogatory. It was a really nice welcome.

I like to think when I make criticisms, they are intelligent and considered. But you decided to label me straight off the bat. Your toffeeweb obsession is as likely to persuade posters to go elsewhere - through accusations like you labelled at me at the time, or via continuous boring threads along the lines of, "look what toffeeweb are saying". - as anything they write or publish over there.

lets keep cheering the blues on eh? Maybe we'll drown them out.

Well that is what I am angling for. A better site than what they have. I only labelled you as a Toffee Web poster because I remember you from the previous forum under Garry, and I don't know why - but I thought you were one of them. I don't hold any grudges and I moved on.

I am hoping to get enthusiasm for a better site. A site with a more positive angle. I have a great vision for this, and I am willing to put in time and effort to get it off the ground. This thread was for me to see if there is any one who I think may be interested.

I do think there is enough of us here who can run it successfully. Its difficult for me to illustrate the style and form here, I may mock up some ideas and then see if Dylan or Danny were interested.

The Oldham result is no cause for Moyes to leave no more than the Spurs game last season but it highlights a ? over team selection and tactics. Why was Lescott on the bench, why not try a young player or two, why have McF in midfield and then leaning to 4-3-3. Believe underestimated Oldham and put out a lesser team to compete.

For me though it revealed that our squad as it stands lacks quality depth in defence and midfield.

I think that would be a great idea GOD, it certainly will be a breath of fresh air compared to the garbage that is spouted out of TW. I'm sure that Danny was going to make a site before becoming TW's official forum. We all made Player Biographys if I remember rightly.

Yeah I have some great ideas. I was talking to someone who knew a blue who was a bit of a cartoonist, I was looking for illustrations that were befitting. This type of thing on this site:

www.alistapart.com - its basically a web design site, but the type of graphic is something you don't really see in football sites. I think it would be good. It could have features like the reserves/youth. We may even be able to get some interviews if were lucky.

My biggest problem with Toffeeweb......the people who use their age as an excuse to think they have a more valid opinion than me. "Son, I have been watching Everton for 55 years and blah blah blah..." Great, you have been supporting way longer than me (monty, Robert this stuff is not aimed at you). But only by virtue of age.

i agree, im 15 but does that mean my views are not valid? no. im still an evertonian and while poeple may not agree with my views its pathetic to suggest theirs are more important because they are older.

moyes has done brilliantly to get us were we are. one bad game shouldnt undermine what he has achieved this season- carling cup semi, qualification(last season) and progresion into the knock out stage in UEFA, sitting 6th in the league, 13 games unbeaten- and ( a select few) are calling for his head?? wtf??

I thought this was a happy web site, and it is, apart from Ghost's constant sniping at toffeweb.

Get over it ghost.

Everton rock, GOT rocks... lets be happy with that
