ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I hear ya, for me it's only city "locked in" all other spots up for grabs. I would be shocked if United dont have a blip at some stage, especially if they get past Real Sociedad in the UEFA, as for Liverpool, I still think they are the only team capable of challenging for the title, but could also finish 8th, with ease - I certainly dont see them as a "inked in" at all

Yes probably all fair that.

I mean it's hard this season, as in reality 10 teams have a credible chaance of the top 4 at this point. Sides like Villa have games in hand, then teams like Southampton, West Ham etc have got the bonus of no European distractions. Arsenal and Chelsea are a bit off, but youd be foolish to completely discard them. It's really tight.

At the same time, a bit like Liverpool pre Christmas there is a move to almost annoint City as champions. LIke I think I said about Liverpool pre-Christmas- lets just wait and see. A team with no visible striker for large periods are getting through games currently. This is not the City of the last 2-3 years (as it is with Liverpool) so it ony takes a bit to go out of kilter again and they come off the pace.

That being said, you're right to say City are the closest to being inked in for top 4. Liverpool probably have the widest range. I suppose what I meant though, I tend to look at teams and think- if they get close to their best can we finish above them this season. With City and Liverpool, this seaosn- it's still a no for me. The rest, if they play at 90% and we play at 100% I fancy us.

I might be being too kind to our red brethren though. If you "play the ball not the man" type of analysis, they are just another inconsistent team, next to Spurs and collectively 2 points between them is better than 3. My gut feeling is they are still a bigger threat than Spurs if they click.

This whole being up by them in the league malarky is tricky though, it was definately easier when there was some distance between us haha!

City are playing well right now, but they'll stumble again like they have the last few years. I think the team needs a rehaul.

It might actually be United that end up winning it all imo. I was pretty impressed when they played us in the league (missed the EFL cup match). Ole has worked it out finally, just put your fastest players on the pitch + Bruno Fernandes.

City are likely to be 7 points clear of the RS having played the same number of games. This should effectively end the RS title hopes. If we can win our 2 games in hand which include City we could become the biggest threat. I want Spurs to win in Thursday as that will put the RS under extreme pressure of even making the top 4. Spurs will be chasing cup glory so I think they'll fall away anyways.

Correct.. he has his hoof and rush style but took it to another level compared to what the PL had seen before and executed it perfectly. It took other teams time to figure out how to defend it but it's obvious now that that has happened.
How many times have we seen a promoted team come up and do well and get a top half finish only to get relegated the following year. They get figured out quickly. Klopp would appear not to have a plan B... if plan A is not working let's stick to plan A...
Sheffield united

hey this thing is not over yet lots of team have a chance sure the oil rig look good at the minute but long way to , as United fan i think lets give it a go it might be unlikely but lets make them work damn hard for it

After the first 9 games of the season they were joint top on 20 points. Since, that point this is their form....

A second quarter of the season collapse.

I mentioned it this morning about my RS mate saying the season should be paused because Covid is just as worse now as it was last year when the season was stopped. Had a text from him (funnily enough after the Man City game had finished) saying he's not arsed about this season because there are more things to worry about, like people dying from Covid. I pointed out that he wasn't like this last season and he had actually said it would be a disgrace if the premier league didn't let the season finish. I am awaiting his reply...:hayee:
