ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

They refuse to look at Klopp spunking 30 million on a central midfielders and 40 odd on another forward.

Were those players as necessary as a 4th centre back?

Why is nobody pointing that out to the goosestepping beaut?

They had Minamino, Origi, and Shaqiri to cover the forward positions. They had Jones, Oxlade Chamberlain and Keita to cover the midfield.

This is his fault and he knows it.
No no no mate you've got it wrong. It's Pickfords fault.

The Liverpool FC national promotional pamphlet (alias Daily Telegraph Sport) provided a front page devoted to Klopp whinging about why they lost. Then two full pages on the Liverpool game. The rest of the 4th round matches were then covered in bits and pieces of reports over the next few pages.
That rabid Liverpool supporter, reporter Chris Bascombe, didn't get the Liverpool game. That went to Jason Burt, chief football correspondent. Bascombe got the Everton game! However, he did get the consolation of being able to get some 'digs' in. eg Headline: 'Everton's reunited front three spark fresh hope of first trophy in 26 years'.
Continues in same vein.............The end of Everton's 5 year wait to reach the 5th round.......an easy win over a young Sheffield Wednesday side. etc., etc.,
Welcome to our world (City). Exactly the same happens week in and week out. They never forget to mention the transfer fees paid for our players - ever. Then there is the usual 'the total cost of the City bench' dig which is an old favourite. I'm suprised they recently seem to have forgotton about Foden's 'misdemeanour' whilst on England duty. But, hey give it time. The good news is that they are doing that as you are now in the mix and seen as a potential threat. This season is a potential opportunity for you boys to finish above Liverpool in the table - for them, that is very scary stuff! So I would say get used it and take it as a compliment. If you weren't a threat or looking like one, then they wouldn't bother. Just like they never did with us pre takeover. Just pat them on the head, smile at them and send them on their way. We achieved football immortality by winning the first ever domestic clean sweep of trophies. No one would ever know though. Airbrushed from history already. Same on all of their websites mate. Positive articles about Liverpool & United generate clicks. Clicks equal success these days for the media. Then the opposite also holds true. Negative stories about Everton & City generate clicks from the plastic armchairs in their replica kits. So for the media it's a win / win. Big up the teams in the red shirts and be super negative on their cross town rivals. They are pond life. Once you realise that, you can just laugh at them because they really are a pitiful bunch of no marks who are stealing a living.

I think you're right about knowing when teams door don't win trophies. The oriny is the club have won lots of trophies/awards since the last FA Cup win, but they're too thick to grasp it.

It's one of those things you only really notice when you're getting a bit rattled/concerned though. I don't know when Leeds, or West Ham, or Brighton or whoever last won a trophy. I'm not even sure off the top of my head when they last won the FA Cup, I think it was 2001 when they stole it against Arsenal. These idiots no our cup wins to the day of the week. It's sad and looks a bit desperate.

Gandhi used to say- first they ignore you, then the laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

This is exactly what happened with City and the FFP case...

I gave up reading newspapers years ago for that exact reason. Both football and politics are spun the way journos want them to be spun. I only occasionally Watch the news and I only read about Everton on Everton media sites. The only time I have to put up with the guff is when I'm watching footy on the tele.

“I do love my asterisk from last season”

You don’t. It eats away at you daily. It causes you to wake up in the middle of the night in cold sweats, knowing that no matter how many £2 plastic flags you hang out of your car window, no matter how many times you share the “champions wall” to your 4 friends on Facebook, that no one actually gave a toss in the end. The fact you waited 30 years for a title parade and are still waiting, consumes your day to day life and there’s not a thing you can do about it. That’s the only true “unbearable” thing in your life. Have a great day red man x
That’s generous.

I liked Jenas’ observation for the third goal. ‘Normally the keeper gets blamed for getting beat on his side of the goal but............’.

yeah completely. There is arguement he had
Put Thiago where to cover that shot and he bottled it and ducked, which you can’t blame
the keeper for. But for me, if you set up the wall to cover one side, keeper owns the other
