Transfer Rumour Joshua Zirkzee

Seems a bit odd the loan has an obligation to buy. Seemed like last season he was getting talked about as a big prospect and breaking his way into the first team, even scoring on occasion. If there’s any substance to these rumours then he’s gone from being one of their bright prospects to deciding he’s dispensable in quite a short space of time.
It's all rumours as it stands, but if we really want to make a credible attempt at CL and if DCL and or Richarlison get a long term injury... Tosun. Better a young prospect playing for a contract than a player running down his.

Would we really expect a 19 year old to lead the line if DCL got injured?

I think we would put Richarlison up top and Digne wide right.

I can’t see that he would get a game Except in exactly the same way Kean was used. Last 5 min sub.
My post referred to injuries to DCL and Richarlison. How old was DCL when he was leading the line? Or would you be happy with Tosun as a lone striker?

I wouldn't pay particular heed to any negative opinions of him from Bayern fans. Whatever he did/didn't do, he couldn't be expected to play regularly there, and when a player is then linked with moves away, it creates a confirmation bias in fans' minds that he isn't good enough, and never will be.

They might be correct in that assessment, but its very subjective given what they are used to, and doesn't mean he can't fit someplace else.

This seems to be our proposed solution for back-up, and we need that back-up in.

He wouldn't go to the U23's, so if Ancelotti thinks its worth a shot, and at the fee mooted, then it is worth a shot.

It's like Kean, playing at Juventus, international caps at a young age, touted as the next big thing, comes to us and it doesn't work out, goes to PSG and rips it up there. Even though Kean you could say was further ahead in his development, a change might be what Zirkzee needs.

Or, more simply...

Not good enough for Bayern can still be good enough for Everton.

James Rodriguez was deemed not good enough for real Madrid. If he was good enough, he wouldn't be at Everton.

I have to agree , I think Baz used to play in a Everton youth team and was a staff member at some point .
There's a reason Baz does the interviews with ex Blue legends . He is not a smarmy POS Dunc fanboy who loves the sound of his own voice .
There's a few YouTube channels that are better like GOT and that young woman who recently changed her YouTube name . Charming and knowledgeable young lady and no I'm not a Carlos alt .
Anyway back to the subject at hand , I'm all for this . He has a decent touch and is a good finisher but I don't think he has the physicality to be a top premier striker . Loved to be proved wrong .

He's 6'4

I can’t see when he would be used.

He hasn’t got the experience to replace DCL if he is out, We would put Richarlison up top. We would hav3 all the same issues as with Kean.

I think we nee£ someone more experienced.

Brother we're playing tosun and even sigurdsson up front. He'll get game time and this isn't a signing to get us top 4 or the league this season it'll be one for the future. So if we get europe next season he'll get plenty of chances.

Curious to the people who don't want; what they want us to bring in, seeing as we said we weren't going to spend any money?

Some very decent strikers in this league cost next to nothing. Calvert-Lewin £1m, Vardy £1m others came through academies. Look at West Ham £45m on Haller, Newcastle £40m on Joelinton. Big fee doesn't mean big result.

They want Lewandowski, mate.

Zirkzee may or may not turn out to be a quality player, but the fact he had so many clubs chasing him as a youth a few years ago, won the trust of the manager last season at 18 to feature in the Bayern first time and has always been on Brands/Everton's radar makes it an attractive proposition. He's just 19 and the fee quoted is a no-brainer really... but then again i've never seen him play and if we're brining a CF in he needs to go straight into the match day squad.

Or if he sees what happened with DCL where if you get your head down and work hard Carlo will get the best out of you.
But DCL got lucky that he could play games as we had nobody else worth a place, that isn't the case here, he has to sit on the bench until DCL gets injured or completely loses form. The chances DC L got don't usually pan out, the we want success now brigade don't allow for young players to develop and so it makes no sense as we won't play him exactly the same as Kean.

Agreed to a certain extent, but DCL is injured at the moment so this is where his chance would come.

DCL will be rested and or rotated when Carlo sees fit to keep him fresh. We've seen this with others. He will get games but but as a 19 year old how many games do you expect to play in a top league?

In terms of Vlasic, I don't think he got a good chance and in his correct position but that was under a different regime. Also on Kean, same he didn't get many chances either but we don't see what he is like in training. He may have just thought it isn't for him and asked for a move.

I bet every single club has similar examples. I can't think of many of these players we have sold that will bite us on the backside.
