Get real mate, if you would really rather qualify for the C/L than win the FA cup, shows the sad state of this money driven game.
Qualifying for the CL makes it far more likely we win a trophies in the future, as more money = better players
Winning the fa cup would be cool but if I was given the choice between either I’d choose CL every day

City moving ominously to the top. They have very favourable fixtures as well. Looks like they could create a gap over everyone. If we beat Leicester though we are in an unbelievable position to kick on and keep pushing for Europe.

I simply cannot see anyone getting close to them now. They have a banker 10 points (probably 12) from their next 4 games & at that point they will be 4 points plus clear. Coasting job from then on.

But, that might suit us down to ground, Liverpool in particular, but also MUFC, Spurs, chelsea and co will push in Europe and drop more points. Top 4 a real opportunity here.

Qualifying for the champions League would be better for the club, the money it would bring, would have the chance to showcase our club on the biggest stage, attract better players.

Would still 1million % rather win the FA cup as a fan though, I'd remember that for a long long time.

Exactly mate, of course money wise it’s better for the club, so is selling the kits to the fans for ridiculous prices, making every penny they can from the fans.

As a fan, who goes the games how can you not want to win something, I’m my lifetime we have 1 FA cup, that’s it. Unreal statements.

Once a season, football has moved on, in the 80s the cup meant everything, now they don’t.
Bet if u asked Wigan fans which they would have preferred, staying up or the fa cup, they say staying up
Bet if you asked any fan here who goes the game, what you you rather have had under Moyes, finished 4th and qualified for the C/L or we could have swapped that for beating Chelsea down at Wembley in the FA cup final a couple of years later- imagine the memories of that for all the lads down there.

Sorry but as a fan there is only one option unless your an armchair.

The fact is CL Qualification is far more important then winning the fa cup, the money and profile are far greater

I would still rather win the FA cup than qualify for the champions league, maybe I am in the minority, but I dont care, champions league qualification doesn't go on the honors list and there is no trophy, there is no parade. I get that the money generated is much more from the champions league than the FA cup. I think the FA cup winner gets about £5m in prize money (if you include the prize money from each round and the final). For the champions league you get £14m before the group stage even starts and then £2.5m for each win in the group stage, if you get all the way to the final its £115m.

Was a game going fan, now unfortunately an armchair fan, what with living in Derby and having 4 kids who all play football on the weekend. Ask me what I'd prefer, the 4th place under Moyes or an actual FA cup trophy. I'll tell you an FA cup trophy mate.

Champions league......Mickey Mouse league anyway :D

It isnt a choice though is it, we could get both, my main point is that CL qualification make it more like we win trophies down the road.
Even Carlo has told every one to stop obsessing over trophies.
As for going the game,my pervious job I worked every Saturday so had no choice but to give up my season ticket and my current job I work shifts, no point have a season ticket if you can’t go to 90% of the games.
There is a way we can both win... WIN THE WHOLE Fin thing

Same mate, don’t get there anywhere near as much as I use too, I don’t mean it in that way anyway, I’m only asking if people actually go the game or use to go because if they did I can’t understand how they would choose champions leauge over a cup win, especially with our recent history.

Well it is sort of a choice, a personal one, what would you rather, FA cup win or qualify for C/L. Dosent mean it’s going to happen.

So Carlo says stop obsessing over trophy’s and that means the fans shouldn’t want to win something, they should make a new trophy for too 4 qualification.

You sure are about that?

“I guarantee you not one Wigan fan, or player, would swap that FA Cup for staying in the Premier League. They’ll remember that day forever.

"I know I will.” -
Callum McManaman

Of course, it depends on the club. For Wigan, winning the FA Cup is the greatest achievement in the clubs history. And winning the FA Cup and going down, is a different question than winning the FA Cup or qualifying for the Champions League.

I think most Evertonians would prefer winning the FA Cup than qualifying for the CL, especially since we haven't won a trophy in 25 seasons. You could argue that qualifying for the CL could spur Everton onto greater things, but you could also argue that winning the cup spurs you on too, great example of that is the 1984 FA Cup win.
