For a player who hadn’t even made a single appearance in professional football and come in, been given some cup games and a number of premier league cameos in the space of 6 months, I’d say his development is coming on quite well personally.

Highly rated at bayern and back up to RL, so why would they let him go?
Why would he come here to be back up to DCL and be in the same position?
Carlo has shown already he doesn't trust teenagers so why bring in one as back up to DCL if he's not going to play him? We do need decent back up.

Makes a ton of sense on those terms, though. Bayern trusts Carlo, he has no second option (preferring no striker at all) and Lewa isn't going to last forever. So Bayern has Carlo develop their next striker while he figures out a permanent answer when the wage bill frees up in 18 months. Wouldn't be surprised to see the math ultimately add up to exactly a free 18 month loan if Bayern exercises a buyback.

It makes a lot of sense. At present we have Tosun as our back up striker. If we get an injury to DCL we can forget about European football. This lad might not be the finished article, but after seeing Carlo’s business over the summer and the success of the signings, I have every confidence in this lad adapting given time.
