Sorry to drag politics in here, but with 40k positive tests today I now agree with @davek that there's every chance this season will be canned fairly soon.

Things are beginning to spiral.

Nah. Last stats were something like 76 players and staff out of 1530 that we're tested every week since the start of the season have come back positive. The RS had Salah with it a couple of weeks back and stopped it from spreading without any postponements.

Knowing the prem they would more likely fine clubs for not controlling the players/keeping things in check before they pulled the plug.

As for this game...just seems odd so late in the day to postpone and for the club not to be involved. They would've known yesterday at least.

Premier league really needs to clarify all this...

This can all lead to a ridiculous scenario of some clubs having 5 or 6 games in hand....City now have 2 games to make up, 3 games come the weekend...if they have another covid outbreak in a few weeks that could be another 3 games postponed...
How the hell do you fit those games in without prolonging the league season?...UEFA aren't gonna agree to cancel the Euros again in the summer, so something will have to give...

So if City got more players testing positive, how long could this go on for before the FA told them they have to play? And would anyone want to play them, given the risks?

Is this not just a case of so many City players & staff testing positive ? , thus everyone within their group having to self isolate for 10 / 14 days.

Our game agst Liverpool was cancelled with a player / staff having symptoms.

Have things changed or is it still as simple as this.

Covid postponements and advantage and disadvantage over home support make this season null and void already IMO.

There is no integrity and therefore competition has gone.

There's been two games postponed out of a possible 150 plus in the PL.

All if’s and buts, but there was a chance we’d have not gotten the points today, picked up more injuries or suspensions, gone into the West Ham game with less rest/players available and lost points there too.
Dunno if I would go that far - West Ham played OAP Mark Noble in midfield on Sunday, and play with a lamppost up front lol lol

They certainly wouldn't deam us as champions league qualifiers like they where certainly going to.do last season for the other teams if it wasn't played on.
While it would be annoying to see the RS get a second title, we could always sing about it being an asterisk as we carve our weight through the Champions League lol lol

And they need to concede the game and the three points. When Hamilton had it Mercedes had to use another driver and didn't win the GP. ( although they did cock it up themselves) Flaunting rules can't go unpunished.
*Flouting

They didnt flaunt the rules.

They asked permission and the Premier League bent for them.

Anyway, lets see what this brings.
*flout

They've obviously flaunted the rules on staying in a bubble. The virus didn't get in itself, one or more of them will have sneaked off to a party. If it was us they'd have the three points already.
*flouted

Flout: (verb) to treat with disdain, scorn or contempt.

Flaunt: (verb) to parade or display conspicuously or ostentatiously.

Come on lads. We're second in the league. We have standards.

Simple - disqualify Man City and relegate them to the Championship as punishment.....
