They didnt flaunt the rules.

They asked permission and the Premier League bent for them.

Anyway, lets see what this brings.
They've obviously flaunted the rules on staying in a bubble. The virus didn't get in itself, one or more of them will have sneaked off to a party. If it was us they'd have the three points already.

The Premier League are probably panicking at the idea of delaying the season, or even worse having to just cancel it outright, there are players moving in and out of tier 2-3-4 areas with a congested fixture list who can quite easily spread covid to multiple clubs before it's even picked up by testing.

It's completely reasonable for them to make the decision to protect players with postponements but that has to be done in a way that all parties are aware of the reasoning behind the decision and all clubs throughout the leagues understand how and why these decisions are being made otherwise it's open to abuse. I don't think Everton will be particularly upset at the postponed game itself but rules shouldn't just be made up behind the scenes without any consultation so it should definitely be called out.
Bein sports are reporting that the pl turned down city's request in the morning and are unsure why it was then granted

On top of our game, can see a full suspension of all fixtures called by the Government in the very near future..

Not the best circumstances like, but the squad getting more of a rest before the West Ham game can only be a good thing.

Hopefully the reschedule it for when we have all our players back fit :hayee:

It needs a break, unfortunately for us.

Ultimately, regardless of what they’re paid, the footballers are human, and with a super strain not under control, what choice do they have?

Unless they change the rules.

Unless the PL do what the NBA did with the bubble in Florida then this will just continue to happen.

As we've seen there's quite a few stupid footballers.
AND NHL. It was really quite simple. If you leave, for any reason, you aren't allowed back in. Theres no "I'm going out for a pizza" or even if you got injured you had to be taken care of by people IN the bubble. There was a pretty big injury for a player in the playoffs and, in theory, he could have come back but because he had to go outside the bubble that was that.

Massive benefit to us to have this postponed. We're too reliant on too few players at the moment and every extra day's rest reduces the risk of soft tissue injuries. If we get the three points awarded to us then all the better.
