People turning their nose up at Khedira yet what we need is a position midfielder infront of the centre backs and thats what he would be, not a long term signing but neither is James & Allan
We'll get more mileage out of James and Allan than Khedira though, I think we have to tread a fine line with signing more older players otherwise we'll go full circle and be stuck with a few players down the years who are on high wages and we want rid of.

We need cheap pace in the wide areas. Take some punts on people like Ruben Vargas or Robin Hack. If they don’t work out, we’ve always been good at recouping money for younger transfers.

I personally wouldn't still. He's never played in a league tougher than Russia and now he's 34. Just not worthwhile and surely he's not coming to Everton on a 6 monther

To be fair he's played in the Portugeuse league and scored a hatful of goals.

A lot mayu depend on Tosun, if we can move him on, he may do us a job for 6 months before hopefully Kean returns.

I'd take Khedira, particularly on a short term deal. Not sure when his contracts up, but a deal to the end of the season could make sense.

The hope will be lads like Besic will move on. What I get from watching James, is even if he walked around the pitch, he'd still be better than most of our players. Same for Khedira really, a lot in that 6 position is how you position yurself to get through games. A bit like Greth Barry when he came in. Just miles ahead in terms of positioning.

I'd also look at Winks/Alli on loan. These are very low risk, potentially high reward options. If it doesn't work out you haven't committed much, but ideally you get someone in who has a point to prove for the Euro's.

I think we may see 1 or 2 of these short term deals in January. Ideally alongside a rabbit out of the hat in terms of talented younger players (ah la Brainthwaite/Nkounkou).

Id take Ali on loan all day long, player with something to prove and the euro's coming up.

Khediera can get in the bin though, makes gylfi look like usain bolt.
Not for me. Another average young player hyped up by the media. And spurs chairman will rinse us as usual

not heard of this guy before, Boulaye Dia, forward as a back up to DCL, around £15m. I could see it happening we certainly need more options up front

Ali has talent.

My concern would be that Jose went into the spurs and the first thing he saw was how lazy he was. So it's a no from me.
My guess is that Ancelotti and Mourinho's man management is significantly different that each manager can get players working that the other one can't. And by that I am implying that Carlo is a bit more tactful and supportive and that might be what Alli needs.

Having said that, I'm not overly fussed by Alli either way.

While I do want a striker its far from top priority in January. I think we need to address the RB situation and another decent CM.
