....Chelsea failed to exploit our weakness, playing Giroud through the middle and no conventional wingers they rarely got behind our back four. Leicester will present a sterner test, as will United in next weeks big cup game but we have a chance playing with last nights attitude and with that tempo.
Agree. Vardy a very different prospect to Giroud. Still wouldn’t change much personnel wise. Just sit deep and compact denying him space to run into.

4/2/3/1 hopefully

Kenny Holgate Keane Niels

Allan Doucs

Iwobi James Richy

It'll be a tough game against Leicester, they are just a well drilled side, but I think they are there for the taking... lost some europa games, lost to liverpool and fulham in the league and only just beat sheffield united in the 90th min.

I think 4 CBs at the back is the way to go against Leicester away from home, gave us a lot of flexibility in dealing with various situations, and both mason holgate and ben godfrey have great pace that allows them to play almost a hybrid CB + LB/RB role.

I'd take the exact same side to Leicester. I'd only make one change at the most just to keep consistency.

The commentary were saying Carlo wants to rest DCL over the winter period and I reckon this game we should have him on the bench with Richarlison in the middle.

Would also give Richy a better chance of bagging a goal which he desperately needs.

Pickford
Holgate Keane Mina Godfrey
Allan Doucoure
Siggurdsson
Iwobi Richarlison Gordon

Rest James and Coleman fully for Arsenal.
I wouldnt necesarilly argue against that.

My only problems would be 1) my spelling of necesarilly & 2) DCL was the outlet against chelsea to hold the ball up which was vital to us not being overly under presure and not seeing the ball come back time and again, i fear taking doms arial ability (while richie aint no slouch) we could see the ball coming back alot more! Especially missing players like James, Coleman & Digne who are all some of our best players at keeping the ball.

Positives could be if Richie takes alot of it into his feet he loves to turn and win a foul, its wether we can play that into feet and stick though

Alex Iwobi just needs output, he reminds me of adama traore when he first played for wolves, he can beat defenders all the time but has no output, now he needs to train hard like traore and develop that output like a cross to DCL like adama crossing to Jimenez at wolves.

Iwobi shown us why we have been so unbalanced with James out wide - problem is his end product is gash.

Sign a top RW with pace to burn who can whip a ball in / skip past a defender and drive into the box with James in the centre and we would be in business.

Quick turnaround for the boys, after a tough game, lets hope we build from this point on.

Goats 11 to start :
Pickford
Godfrey - Mina - Keane - Holgate
Doucs - Iceland - Allan
Iwobi - DCL - Rico
Same again.
Same 11, same effort - hopefully, same result,

Less sulk, less daft yellows and better shooting from Richo

...despite one very poor cross last night, I actually think Iwobi can pick a pass and usually delivers threatening balls into the box. Inconsistency and tendency to drift in and out of games is an issue but he has ability.
