We needed protection for the defence after what Southampton did last week. The risk is leaving Dom exposed up front as I don’t think Sigurdsson is creative enough to hit him with killer passes

This really good shout. Risk of Dom being complete isolated. Not really any of those midfielders (Siggi aside) who are going to make runs ahead of the ball or get into the box. Can see a thankless task for Dom with few chances.

Having said that, the Newcastle team looks crap so if there is a game this season we have to be without so many players, this isn’t a bad one.
