If we loose and James plays then I can see the media and haters coming out strong and reminding everyone how James is just a luxury player, incapable of carrying the Team to enough victories.

Anyway, I would have liked a better match from Everton on Sunday. The guys seem deflated and distracted (probably because of all the hate and criticism they received throughout the week). There was just no good connection between them, no smooth transitions either. And James definitely didn't find a good partner in Iwobi during the first half. That said, it is just one lost. Everton still on top, they have surpassed fan's expectations this beginning of the season and they have brought a sense of hope that we shouldn't loose so soon. I have faith they will bounce back after this week. It won't be easy due to injuries and suspensions but this would be a good test to see if this team's character has really improved from last season, and to see if they are capable of overcoming adversity when is most need it. I for one think they will!!!

And I, for one, welcome that opinion.

Pickford
Jjk
Mina
Keane
Delph
Allan
Gomes
Docoure
James
DCL
Gordon
That’s what I reckon Carlo will do
Godfrey is not a RB but has remarkable recovery pace
Nkounkou too inexperienced
Iwobi is done
Gordon showed fight and ability

I think this will be the team too. I am concerned that it will have enough about it to win the game however. If Newcastle find a way to nullify james which think they will, then Its hard to see where the creativity or cutting edge will come from to provide Calvert lewin with the service he will require. It may be a case of it being a game which we will have to try to keep it tight and nick one from a set piece.

Aparently Newcastle took season ticket money and dont seem to me refunding anyone, grim that, seen a few geordie's talking about it on threads about PPV

Pickford
Kenny (if fit) Mina Keane Delph
Allan
Andre Gomes Doucoure
Rodriguez Calvert-Lewin Gordon

Subs; Olsen, Nkounkou, Godfrey, Sigurdsson, Davies, Bernard, Simms.

Should still be enough there to beat Newcastle. And while I've been impressed with Nkounkou this season, with Coleman also being out, I'd hesitate to have two relatively inexperienced fullbacks (especially with Gordon ahead of the LB) so I'd have Delph to start ahead of Nkounkou. Would love to see Ellis Simms on the bench, just to give us another striking option, and to give Newcastle something of the unknown to think about.

They know all about everyone today ,don't forget Carlo was after DCL for years .

Richarlison is our Mane.

He’s relentless in his pressing, he’s unreal.

All those idiots who said we didn’t need another winger looking stupid now.

“BUT WHEN WILL THEY PLAY”

reckon iwobi and Bernard would have had to be sold to get another winger in. Iwobi is only 1 year in (as bad a year as it’s been) and we’re paying Bernard silly money so he’s going nowhere. We can’t expect to do everything in one window. We’ve made massive improvements but anyone who thought we would challenge for the league was naive in the extreme. there have been signs of improvements attitudes and desire from the players who let us down last year but they still have the same limitations.Newcastle wont be anywhere near as good as Southampton without the ball so we need to bounce back and not let one bad performance slip into a familiar terrible run like last season.

Pickford
Kenny keane Godfrey Neils
Delph Allan
Dacoure
James DCL Gordon

if James isn’t fit then Bernard.

we have been over ran in midfield for the last 2 games. Allan and Delph both need to sit to allow the fullbacks to join in attacks. Dacoure needs to improve, we need a proper box to box performance from him. The RS and Southampton both stopped us getting crosses into DCL so we have to get more width from fullbacks. Without making any more stupid challenges we need to be a lot more aggressive without the ball.

Ashley is a foul individual.
Whatever else they are the Newcs are loyal to their club, and he takes full advantage.

It’s funny that we probably could have used Walcott against Southampton and Newcastle. He would have been a better option than Iwobi or Bernard, at least he would have offered a bit of pace.

Don’t think we’ll be needing pace so much against Newcastle. They sit with 10 behind the ball most the time. Early goal and these will fold. Absolutely terrible team

Even the terrible teams in the league have teams packed with pace and power in all positions. We don’t, we have a legacy of buying slow weak players Sigurdsson, Davies, Bernard, Iwobi, Tosun, are all too slow for premier league football. Allan and James don’t have a great amount of pace either but have the quality to make up for it. If you take Richarlison out though then the gaps start to appear as we just dont have that many quick players. Even the back 2 aren’t quick. It’s a huge problem for us. Any team that puts in a lot of effort and harries us will have a chance against us.
