Most meetings between us at Goodison end in draws. They’ve been extremely fortunate on numerous occasions not least last season. It looks as though they’ll be full strength except for Allison and we will be full strength except for maybe Coleman.

Its a worry if Mina doesn't make it - would mean Godfrey at CB and Davies at RB.

Cant believe Holgate is still out - will be 6 weeks come the derby absolutely crazy considering it was just a toe injury.

No word on Holgate or Branthwaite which is a bit ridiculous. They must know at this point whether they’re back soon or there’s been complications. Same with Gbamin really. The club never communicate on injuries though.

I started supporting Everton in 88 when I was 16, sometime before the 88-89 season started. I always expected us to thrash them (didn't actually hate them back then)* and everyone else for that matter. But having lived in a whole different continent my whole life and never having stepped foot in Goodison let alone England I understand how it is to pay good money to watch your team in the flesh only for them to not win. After a while it does do your head in mate. Thankfully Hamez and Co don't much care for that part of history.

* I was 16 and didn't really care for footie all that much though was familiar with a club called Everton and a guy called Peter Eastoe because of a Topps card collection book or something. I still don't hate Liverpool but I do have this recurring dream where every team that plays them automatically becomes Barca at their peak and they eventually find themselves in the conference. In the same dream we are peak barca every match we play.
I dreamt last night that we were outplayed but came from 0-1 down to snatch a draw.

I've backed 0-0, can't believe it's 18/1 given we are on the back of an international window at 1230.
I can just see us attacking the way we have been playing [i hope so anyway], i would be surprised if we got a 4th home 0-0 in a row but like everyone would love us to actually score seems as we have not scored home in a Derby since Lukaku 5 years ago-think 7 of last 9 home have been draws.

Yeah & add that to both teams dodgy keepers & the very porous defence from them so far it seems unlikely on paper, I suppose its the price at 18/1 and I do wonder will the game end up really slow and ponderous post international break. I wont be upset when we take the lead

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed Allan, Andre Gomes and Seamus Coleman have returned to training and are expected to be available for Saturday’s Merseyside derby at Goodison Park (12.30pm).

The Blues have also been boosted by Richarlison’s fitness after the attacker played 90 minutes for Brazil against Peru on Tuesday night – the 23-year-old scored in a 4-2 victory for the five-time world champions.

Yerry Mina sat out Colombia’s 2-2 draw with Peru on Tuesday as a precaution after feeling discomfort in his thigh and his availability for the Liverpool clash will be assessed by Everton medical staff upon his return to USM Finch Farm.

Centre-back pair Mason Holgate and Jarrad Branthwaite remain sidelined but are progressing well in their recoveries.

Ancelotti added Jean-Philippe Gbamin could be ready to return to action by late-November, while Cenk Tosun is training individually at the Blues’ training complex.

Speaking to evertontv, Ancelotti said: “Andre Gomes is available for Saturday, no problem.

“Allan started to train with the team this week. If nothing happens in the next few days he will be available to play against Liverpool.

“I think Seamus is going to be good, too, because he started to train with us on Monday.

"Holgate and Branthwaite are working individually. Branthwaite is closer [to returning].

“They have no problems [in their recovery programmes] but we have to wait a little bit.

“Gbamin is working individually, he is not here [at USM Finch Farm] yet.

“I think he is going to be here in 15 days and start to work apart from the team in the beginning, and then with the team.

“At the end of the November, I think he can be fit to play.”

Ancelotti added new signing Ben Godfrey could make his Everton debut in Saturday’s derby showdown.

The Blues head into the game with a perfect record so far in 2020/21, having recorded seven successive victories.

Godfrey joined Everton from Norwich City on transfer deadline day and Ancelotti explained how his range of attributes will complement the talented defenders in his squad.

The centre-back will train with his new teammates for the first time this week having been away with England Under-21s on international duty – Godfrey played the full game as the young Lions beat Turkey 2-1 on Tuesday to secure a spot at next year’s European U21 Championship.

“Godfrey is a a really talented player,” Ancelotti said.

“He is really fast, very quick. He has different characteristics from the centre-backs we have in this moment.

“He is a complete defender, fast, good with his head and good with the ball. He has all the quality to be a really good centre-back.

"He has experience in the Premier League. He was really happy to come here.

“I think he will be a good signing, not only for the present because I think he is ready to play in the Premier League, but also for the future of the Club.

“If he is fit, he is going to be in competition with the others [for the game against Liverpool].”
