Villa missed a lot of sitters mate, should have been 9-2 or 10-2 in the end. Nothing to do with deflections. Have a look at the highlights.
 

They will be up for this after being mauled by Villa. However that could play into our hands as for once they go into a Derby on the back foot. The pressure will be on them as they will be determined to put us in our place. Hopefully non of our players lose their heads.
 
How long does Carlo get with the players returning from international duties?
That is my only concern, that we don’t have long enough for him to get across his plan and practise the implementation of that plan.
Saying that James, Allan and Doucoure all slotted in well with minimum time to gel.
I just think Carlo will have a counter to the RS system and it would be better to have the time to get that through to the players.
Still sticking with my 3-1 result... positivity and all that :)

I started supporting Everton in 88 when I was 16, sometime before the 88-89 season started. I always expected us to thrash them (didn't actually hate them back then)* and everyone else for that matter. But having lived in a whole different continent my whole life and never having stepped foot in Goodison let alone England I understand how it is to pay good money to watch your team in the flesh only for them to not win. After a while it does do your head in mate. Thankfully Hamez and Co don't much care for that part of history.


* I was 16 and didn't really care for footie all that much though was familiar with a club called Everton and a guy called Peter Eastoe because of a Topps card collection book or something. I still don't hate Liverpool but I do have this recurring dream where every team that plays them automatically becomes Barca at their peak and they eventually find themselves in the conference. In the same dream we are peak barca every match we play.

We jest from time to time about it but the devil is real if we don’t. Everything is lining up. 10 years to the day? That’s crazy in more ways than 1.
