Yak and Vaughan Watch

Vaughany off the bench today to play some part in seeing off Leeds and making us almost (but not quite mathematically) safe. Nice to see him have a (broken) hand in our survival fight.
Two for Yak also.
You might get some wedge for both of them.

I still <3 the Yak, and want us to keep him, but if not (probably not) then let's hope so! We sure need it!! =S

Loaning him to the championship, and thereby saddling him with the label of a premiership failure, probably knocked a couple of million off his valuation.

I was talking to Kevin Blackwell, the former Leeds and Sheff Utd manager last night. He was doing Fivelive on the Forest-Leicester game and said Yakubu was shocking...no surprise there, he hardly broke sweat., though he did break into a trot once
Why are people expecting the Yak to break sweat? he's "lazy" remember!!!

Moyes etc expects him to be a workhorse. he's really not that type of player. I've said it before, stick him up front, don't do silly things like ask him to play all over the pitch and pass the ball to him aroud the penalty area and he'll do the business. He didn't become one of the best strikers in the prem with doing all that running around stuff. Simply not his style.

James Vaughan has broke his own hand after punch a dressing room wall in anger after his current club Crystal Palace’s home defeat to Scu nthorpe United. He had a nightmare of a game,

All fact - apart from the one opinion of his actual performance. Football, a game of opinions.

squandering a few chances and picking up an ankle injury in the process -

Yes - fact, he missed several chances. In fact, the BBC actually use the same term as me;

Darren Ambrose blazed a decent opportunity over the top for the Eagles before Vaughan squandered an even better chance by shooting wide.

meaning he's likely to miss Crystal Palace's vital run in[/COLOR].

'Likely' - which was reported.

As you say mate, it's a game of opinions. Apparently.

Yes. Yes it is.

(y) All faith in the BBC, lol.
Honestly mate, we saw it differently, and much of that must be due to me wanting to put as positive view on it as possible. By our standards, Vaughany has been great and contributed significantly to our survival. He can be indisciplined and that can cost. Is he at the level Blue needs? Probably not tbh, not from what I have seen this season, ( a dozen or so Palace games and about seven Everton.) Could he play in the Premiership? Fully fit I reckon he would do a job for someone. A fully fit Vaughany might have done a lot better than Victor at Wigan though. (opinion!).
