He plays in a way which just gives me joy ... exquisite is the word I'd use. The only player I can think of who had the same effect on me was another of our ball playing maestros, Colin Harvey. Maybe a bit premature, maybe a bit exaggerated but happens to be true for me.

I'm sure this is a constant worry when you play for Real too. We've seen already how strong he is and how he can just instinctively step out of trouble.

I also loved him yelling "James! James!" when he wanted the ball last night in his squeaky wee Speedy Gonzalez voice. Arriba!

This was my fear last night. Once we knew we had the game I’d haven taken him off and wrapped him in cotton wool...because of this man, and Carlo, we really are the team that plays beautiful football......
