Yak and Vaughan Watch

James Vaughan has broke his own hand after punch a dressing room wall in anger after his current club Crystal Palace’s home defeat to Scu nthorpe United. He had a nightmare of a game, squandering a few chances and picking up an ankle injury in the process

Really?? I must have been in the parallel world Palace v S****horpe game then. Vaughany was his usual self, working like a dog, making little runs and always making himself available in the box. He held the ball up well and was kicked to cack by the S **** horpe defence one of whom got sent off. He injured his ankle throwing himself feet first at a low cross across the six yard box and collided with the post. We had used all three subs and so he refused to come off continuing to try to run off his knock. At the end of the game he had to be dragged away by team mates from offering out one of the other thugs who had been kicking him all afternoon. I think it was probably his frustration at not lamping the S **** horpe player that made him punch the wall. He is now jogging and may make the bench for tomorrows game v Leeds. He is one of the main reasons we aren't relegated already. He may not ever be a top class Premiership striker, but, because of my lad, I've been to a few Blues games this season, and there has been more than one occasion where his level of passion and commitment might have helped. Still, if he's too poor for you, we'll be very grateful.

I'm glad to hear that, mate. I've always liked Vaughany. It's just a shame injuries have damaged his career.

I thought he was poor. Sure, he ran - big thrill.

What about the sitter he missed? He really should have scored.

Liability. Probably frustration from his performance and chances he missed mate.

hope he does well, got more bollocks than are forwards, and i hope palace stay up had more than there fair share of crap coming there way the last few years , best of luck to you

I wasn't. I helped crop/feature for late kick off. Watched the whole game from the comfort of home (y)

Which makes your post even more bizarre. It makes it look like you were seeking to justify a point made in a thread from three years ago. The Championship is not like The Premiership. What it lacks in "quality" (read ;wealth) it makes up for in heart and endeavour. The lad is a very honest pro, sure, he plays with his heart on his sleeve but I like a team with one or two of those. He is not without quality. Obviously, that shows up more at our level than yours. But, hey, never mind, have a sneer at one of your own.

I was talking to Kevin Blackwell, the former Leeds and Sheff Utd manager last night. He was doing Fivelive on the Forest-Leicester game and said Yakubu was shocking...no surprise there, he hardly broke sweat., though he did break into a trot once

Way to twist it, soft lad.

Back to the point you took great objection with;

All fact - apart from the one opinion of his actual performance. Football, a game of opinions. Looking past the novelty of his running, he had a poor/nightmare of a game in my opinion. You'll not find a report on the game that doesn't mention his missed chances - compound that by picking up another injury because of his enthusiasm and then add a fractured hand because he punched a wall in frustration - or was that in celebration of putting in a brilliant performance?

Fact?
Fact?
Fact?

As you say mate, it's a game of opinions. Apparently.

I was hoping when I clicked on this thread that Danny was selling GOT inspired merchandise.

I really want one of those Yak and Vaughan Watches.
