No question he’s a good player (on his day very good).
No question he would improve our squad.

The question is Price. He’s priced himself out by extending his contract. His choice.

I hope the club stand firm. £25M. Not a penny more. If Zaha really wants the move, he will have to sort that with Palace, forego his “loyalty bonuses” etc.. & force the move.
Any talk of £40M is utterly ridiculous!
£25M is pushing it, even though he did score a nice goal yesterday.
I won't cry if he doesn't come and I don't see him as a must have either.

His agent cocked up - but no doubt they had a gentlemans agreement and the club have messed him around.

Its like Richarlison signing a new contract with the club agreeing to let him go if a fair price comes in. Barca offer £100 million and we say no sorry a fair price to us is £180 million.

I cant see how you can blame Zaha for that and not Palace for being unreasonable. They have Billionaire owners yet choose to just do enough to stay up every year - dont hold a players career back who has given you decent service in those circumstances imo.
You seem to misunderstand the importance of placing your signature on a contract.
In my work you have to abide by the contract or you face penalties. We have frequently had to sign contracts which are unfavourable (during recessions for instance) and mean we struggle to make any profit , sometimes even making a loss.
Point is you have to honour your contract or you become known as unreliable and maybe overlooked in the future.
Let’s look at the other way round and imagine the club owners being free to ignore their side of the contract and deciding to arbitrarily reduce the players wage or impose other conditions not included in the contract , should the player just accept ?
Of course not , a contract is legally binding and protects the interests of both parties.
Always read what you put your name to.
Stupidity or greed is no excuse to disregard a contract.

Nobody mentioned invalidating a contract either?? He could still be contracted to Palace, but have changed his mind in the 3 years since he made that statement? Thats what I'm getting at.
I’m sorry I seem to be missing your point.
What difference does the player changing his mind make to his contractual obligations?

He’s a good player and would really thrive in our team, At Palace he there main man and get doubled up on every game,
I think If he leaves it will be on TDD, then Palace can claim they didn’t have time to buy a replacement

Palace rumoured to be close to signing Behrama from Brentford for £20 million.

Think he is more a RW but with both him and Eze joining I highly doubt Zaha remains at Palace come the seasons end.

Maybe Palace are just waiting to get deals done before agreeing to a sale?

Benteke also close to a return to Belgium however Batshuayi will be his replacement.

Said it before and I’ll say it again. This is just pure imagination stuff. No where’s reported anything about us being interested this summer. Also any deal would heavily rely on us sending players the other way otherwise it’s not worth it at all.

A pure cash deal paying £25m-£30m or more would be awful, leaving us with another Gylfi where he’s good in the team for 2 years and isn’t good enough anymore afterwards despite being one of the highest earners, then not being able to shift him when he needs replacing.

The “potential” deal makes zero sense unless it’s like £20m + Tosun and Bolasie and maybe someone else or something like that. Otherwise no way.

Every player wants CL football mate - Zaha is hardly going to say he wants midtable football.

Doucoure wanted to leave Watford for CL football and look who he is playing for.

Well, if he could sit down across a table facing Carlo, look him in the eye and say, 'I want to be here' - and Carlo believed him, I'd be fine with it though I think he's one of those unlucky blokes who fall in the crack between good and good enough for C L.

I personally think he'll end up here - something like £40 million + Bolasie.

Palace then have:

LW: Eze / Bolasie
RW: Behrama / Townsend.

I hope not. £40 million plus Bolassie!!
That would be a massive massive risk for us.
No thanks to that deal.

Every deal is a risk for us.

Ings/Wilson were a risk so we spunked £32 millions on shiny foreign CF's Tosun & Sandro instead and how has that worked out?

Just enjoy the football and stop worrying about finances.
