I’m sure he will have done, but any decent agent would have inserted a release clause in his contract. I wonder if he’s still with the same agent.

If im the club and youre the agent, the second you insert clauses like that Im dropping the wage being offered. Wilfy Zaha wouldnt like that and neither would his agent, ie they sign it knowing fully theres no clause. There are no excuses.

I'm saying he made the decision to stay 3 years ago and hasn't won anything in that time frame. He's probably changed his mind by now.

...I think there’s often something behind a new contract. Zaha probably saw a significant salary increase whilst Palace protected their asset to ensure a decent fee. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was agreement that he’ll be allowed to leave if the right offer came in.

Arsenal are the ones mentioned but I doubt they’d be interested with Arteta in charge. Indeed, I doubt any team involved in top 4 would want his type. Time will tell, I’d be encouraged if Brands isn’t in the least bit interested.

They want to get rid of Benteke as well so hopefully they will come back for Tosun. Could use him as a sweetener.

I'm not the biggest fan of Zaha but I think this move has a lot of sense for us and as we saw with Doucoure, we'll come back for our targets.

On our transfer policy overall, I think we are going to have to offload some of our deadwood before we make any other significant purchases. At this rate we’re going to have a squad of about 40 players with up to 15 of them not up to the required standard.
