Conspiracy theories

A good conspiracy theory is simply based on two things

1. What
2. Why

The how is where the theory has its ground but as long as you have those two then you have a good basis for a conspiracy theory. That's why no covid-19 conspiracies hold ground because none of them have a why to go with them. You can go into detail about all you want but if there isn't a credible why then it's basically a fairytale .

Even things like the moon landing has a credible why to it. Now the more I read about that in particular I have swayed back to the official line because there has been evidence offered to it being real that does make sense now. But go back 10 years ago , the theories around that did sound credible to have been faked.
That’s always been my main issue with the 9/11 ones. I can’t see any reason why.

That’s a good one. I always wonder if builders always reveal when they find unknown structures or remains when building a new property etc as they know it will cause a massive hold up with archaeologists coming to inspect and detail everything. I suspect not
Builders here in Spain are gutted when they turn up an old Roman house. The Government give six months for the University to dig.

I was talking to a local businessman who bought some derelict buildings in the town centre 'for next to nothing' (his words) and he was going to have them developed and was looking at making a lot of money. Until someone discovered that there were bats in there and he couldn't touch the buildings, that was 20+ years ago. Not a happy chap

I had never heard of the bat protection laws before he told me but as of now, the disused buildings are still in a state of ruin.

There are rumours of people planting great crested newts in places they don’t want planning applications to go through.

I mean it’s a good one but it doesn’t make any sense.
As the article below details:

In the words of Stewart Lee: "Well, you can prove anything with facts... " lol

To be honest, I find these type of conspiracy theories quite disturbing; where people have lost their lives and they have families out there grieving the loss of loved ones.

Totally agree. The worst ones are after school shootings, there are all sorts of claims about crisis actors etc. Those people really are sick.

We usually get the bats monitored for a while. And I think depending on nesting seasons etc you can get them removed. Takes months like but shouldn't prevent building works indefinitely is have thought..
