When I look at the videos of his skills, he reminds me of a fresh young player, the arrogance of youth. He doesn’t seem to be afraid to try anything. All of our lads seem to have it trained out of them and stop trying the really clever stuff.

We always hear about players looking great in training and we see them scoring amazing goals and trying amazing skills and then it comes to the match and we get crab football. Hopefully Rodriguez will give a lot of those around him the confidence to try the stuff which they can all do in training.

If it all comes to pass i'm really excited. Its the first time i remember in a long time the squad will be close to balanced with most positions not short. That and really exciting youngsters in Kean, Gordon and Brathwaite. I also think Carlo - like Leicester last season - with is tactical nous will turn a lot of one point games into wins.

Think we can have a fair swing at Europe, our target has to be finishing ahead of Leicester and Wolves.

I'd like to be overtaking Spurs, but that's a big ask. A lot would have to go our way for that to happen.
