You don't think this is a possibility.

Just for clarity, I’m firmly in the sign him up for 2/3 years as I think he’d be a huge and key signing for us. Just my opinion though and recognise the sense behind a loan

The only downside to it being a loan, is if it goes well, we have to go through all this trauma again next summer window

If it goes well, he'll be signing for United or Arsenal for huge wages next summer... If it doesn't, he'll be hoping someone like Villareal or Sociedad take a punt on him for free....if it goes OK without being spectacular, than Welcome to Everton James...

This is a shop window season for him

Can’t see them loaning him to us when his contracts up this year.

Unless it’s a loan with obligation to take him on next year, in which case it’s good for us on a business sense.

Presumably if it is a loan he'll have already agreed to a contract for once the 'loan' finishes. Some additional money will go to Madrid after he's made something silly like 5 or 10 appearances at the end of the season on top of the 'loan fee'.

No way are Madrid agreeing to this.

So if he's on £250k, are we paying all of this, and waiving the fee? Yet Real want €25m?

Something doesn't add up. We'll buy him, and we'll pay €20m i reckon.

Just can’t see Madrid wanting to loan him out with a year left on his deal unless they are truly desperate to get him off their wage bill but then given he’s on around 200k per week, means they would still have to pay a percentage of that because we couldn’t afford that full amount. Also I’m pretty sure other clubs would be willing to offer them cash for him.

I call BS on the loan shout.
