Yeah. It was all about out with the old (who, although men of their time, or perhaps a little beyond) were very successful (Chairman Arthur Wait and Manager Bert Head had taken us from Div 4 to Div 1 for the first time in our history) and in with the new, Big Mal and a Chairman called Ray Bloye who’s first name must really have been “Allegedly” as there are so many unpleasant stories of his (allegedly) dubious antics.
There didn’t seem to be any negativity about it at the time either. Can’t see it happening these days.
