Who knows, but plenty of drums banging now that makes me think we might finally get a ‘here we go’! from Romano. (Who incidentally has the same surname as my favourite TJ Hooker character).

It is to your average person yes, but premier league football and normal people don't operate the same way, if we think he will improve our midfield then just get him

£5m a year is a £100k per-week player, if you put it in that context.

So yes, it still is quite a lot of money.

We haven't got an endless amount. We need to ship 2-3 players out at least to even probably start thinking it's okay to be spending that much more on a player, because then it means we're lumping wages on top (and Allan will probably be doubling his wages if he comes here).

There's also the fact that Premier League prize money, FA Cup participation money etc is all either flat lining or going down after the pandemic.

It all adds up. Oh, and then there's FFP.

But we crucify the club when they pay players too much. £5m is 96k per week. People rightly moan about what what we pay, say Bolasie and Sigurdsson as it's wasteful. But when they try to save a similar amount to a year's wages on buying a player, it's dawdling and we should just spend it?
