Iwobi swap deal plus cash makes massive sense. Palace get a direct replacement good enough for a mid table outfit plus a bit of dough for a wantaway player.

We get Iwobi off the books and have spent less money in the process on his replacement.

...but surely it’s a bit pointless swapping one ineffective player for another. Also, we’re a mid-table team too.

A half fit Rooney on his last legs was better on one leg than any of the other three in their prime. He literally kept us up under Allardyce playing midfield.

Agree to disagree, I can think of loads of points he won us almost by himself. Considering he had Davies and Siggurdson next to him who do you think made that midfield tick the limited amount it did that season?

Iwobi isn’t going anywhere. He’ll be a decent squad player and a good option at number 10 if we play with one.

Pennington stunk the place out for Hull City, playing his part in a team that finished bottom of the Championship.
Nothing whatsoever against the lad, but I cant see too many queueing up for his signature.

Remember when we randomly gave him a new contract? Everton.
