Couple of their best teams, couple of our best teams.

That league has crap like Mainz, we have crap like Brighton.

15pt gap between 2nd and 3rd in the PL this season.

All leagues are the same.

Schalke were hilariously bad towards the end of the season when I was watching JJK, and they are supposed to be a big team.

It really is generally sh-it mate but for the 3/4 top teams. At least some of our crap teams tend to do well and get to the later stages of Europa League and what not.

Well maybe yeah.

Anyway, a league where someone wins the league for like 8 on the bounce or whatever, certainly cannot be described as competitive. It's just boring watching games knowing that teams are going to rollover to Bayern every year. So in that respect, it's like the SPL.

It’s a glorified SPL mate at least your eyes don’t deceive you.

Because we've had so many different PL winners in the last 10 years? Just because they have one team better than the others doesn't devalue the league compared to ours. PL being this amazing league is a complete myth; absolutely chock full of wank teams.

Except EPL clubs can spend more than the average crap in other leagues

Having a team so much better than the rest definitely devalues the product of any competition for me. The PL has never had close to a period where one club has dominated like Bayern. Even Fergie's United don't get close.

I'm not comparing the quality to the SPL. But it's no more competitive than the SPL and what is sport without a bit of drama and uncertainty? Bayern literally take most young German players who come through at other clubs, and normally get them pretty cheap too. Not my idea of entertainment really. although the current Bayern team are obviously a quality side.

Premier League is a step up in class to the German League mate. The point was would Richarlison do a lot better in that league? Answer is of course he would because the quality of players over there there ain’t as good as it is here. I’m not denying they have 3/4 top teams just like the Portuguese league does.

Brands and Ancelotti will already exactly what is going on here. They will know they can't keep ambitious players indefinitely without improving. But I'm not sure, at this point, what else we could've done to alter the perception. Had we went and got Moyes as our manager, or stuck with Silva, or some other low hanging fruit, then the players could expect that we are talking the talk with no intention of walking the walk.

But signing Ancelotti is pretty much as big a statement on its own as a team can make. The next step is backing him with money and signing who he wants/needs to get us to where we need to be. Richarlison will either be a part of that, which he seems happy enough to do if we improve as we intend, or he won't be and we will sell him at a massive profit and try to further strengthen the team. As is pointed out, it is literally what all but the top 2 or 3 sides in the world do. The RS have up sold their best players 3 times in the last 10 years to the tune of over £250m to be able to reach the level they are at now. They didn't do it, and probably would've been unable to do it by keeping them.

The trick is, making it count when you have to do it.
