Liverpool have now issued a response to the Mayor claiming his theory 'lacks evidence' with the Reds stating how a number of fan-groups have "informed of their determination to respect social distancing measures".

Liverpool supporters group Spirit of Shankly say they are 'angered' by Mayor Joe Anderson's suggestion that fans would directly ignore the government-imposed social distancing measures should the Reds win the title.
