Three offers to buy Everton turned down

David Bick, football financial dealer and a man who led the communications strategies for the takeovers of Aston Villa, Southampton and Manchester City, said the club were in negotiations with a buyer "with deep pockets". So that runs a coach and horses through Kenwright and Elstone's statements that those enquiring don't have the funds...unless they're calling the man a liar? No wonder the club didn't want to comment on that report.

Dave,

I'm not doubting your original thread started that the BBC were going to make a report on this.

However, and as usual, there hasn't been any factual evidence produced by anyone showing that Kenwright has turned down a legitimate bid by a legitimate buyer. When someone comes up with that, then you put me in the camp of "Kenwright lied to the supporters."

Until that tiime comes, he gets the benefit of the doubt.

1. Dave Bicks' word and the silence from the club.

2. Elstone's changed his statement after the board knew that what he was saying first time round - about them not having the funds didn't stand up to scrutiny.

Plus others know that interested parties have been turned away.

...and again, I'll reiterate my point that there hasn't been one shred of factual evidence to back the "Kenwright lied" brigade's claims that he's turned down multiple legitimate offers.

When someone produces some, I will quickly change my tune and eagerly accept the "I told you so's" from my fellow board members.

Franchises.

I'm not much of an NFL fan but follow how the hometown Texans do. Used to go to Astros baseball games all the time but now that we have an MLS team here, all of our time at sporting events is spent there.

It's pretty much Everton and the Dynamo for me.

here's forbes rich list from the states, it should be the page with all the sports related ones on.

We'll get some idea of who's made contact...details instead of heresay. An American group will be identified.

The club are refusing to pass comment on the report, apparently.

Leave Bill alone you monsters, or we'll tag team your dirty arses off here.

stands next to Bill*

Nah, I'm fine with people having their opinions.

But I'm not going to base my opinions on hearsay without seeing some facts. If it can be shown that Kenwright has had numerous opportunities to sell at a legitimate price, I'll be the first to hold up my hand and say "well there we are."

The radio trailer to this tv report was all about firm offers to buy the club from three different parties and the club not wanting to make a statement, so that was the reason for the thread title. I do concede the details weren't forthcoming in that report, though, so I take your point.

As I said, however, there is a smoking gun that came out of the report tonight and it surrounds that issue over substantive offers: the club have always maintained there's been none; an industry specialist says that he worked on a deal for Everton that was substantive. I think if there was any doubt concerning the claim of David Bick then the club would have hammered that home in a rebuttal. Make no mistake, that feller's let a cat out of the bag there and the club cant dismiss anymore the charge they're not treating takeover offers seriously. If nothing else, tonight's report has established a new set of truths surrounding our failure to be sold.

If that can be demonstrated, then I'm hopping over to that side of the fence. I'll be curious to see what the BBC have dug up. To be fair, I've always wondered how teams like West Ham and Blackburn can come up with a buyer in a flash yet a team like ours, with it's history, fanbase, and tradition can't get a real offer.

Another BANG ON post by Davek.

it was an eye opener to me several weeks ago.

And don't think individuals. Think billion dollar investment funds.
