Another thing that doesnt appear to have been considered is that if 4 or 5 players test positive at one club and are isolated, is their club forced to play a much weakened team? If so, thats a huge disadvantage

If 4 or 5 players are tested positive the whole team will be in lockdown, as will any theyve played over the last week at least, and any those secondary teams have played etc.

Recent reports were stating that the rest of the team didnt have to isolate. That would put a team, especially one fighting relegation, at a massive disadvantage. But also, imagine what would be going through the other players heads? Would they be able to focus properly in the game or would they be worried they might have it.

The relegation threatened clubs should be fighting these proposals at all costs as they are the ones with most to lose. Imagine West Ham for instance, with the ricidulous fixture list they have already proving an obstacle, to then lose 5 of their best players for a few weeks. They wouldnt stand a chance.

1. Gary Neville

Believe it or not, but Neville has been largely on the side of finishing the campaign – you just have to sift through his daily attempts to wind-up Jamie Carragher. He rallied against both Piers Morgan and Rio Ferdinand after their suggestions, and it should also be pointed out the former Manchester United man opened up his two Manchester hotels for NHS staff during the crisis – a class act from someone whose politics are closely aligned to Liverpool’s, even if neither of them would admit it.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Those beacons of socialism and community in a crisis, the furlough-ing kings of Eurovision. The famous slum lords of Anfield.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Go and work for Trump you monumental bellend.
I nearly choked on my butty reading that bit they really have no self awareness.

Hopefully some seriously realisations are made in this supposed call today. To put money over health is absolutely disgusting and all those in favour of it ought to be ashamed of themselves. Finances before health is despicable, and football without fans is nothing. Draw a line under this now.

Them lot are playing the victim card to a T. Apparently the media have got it in for them, however this is the media that (mostly) appears to be crying out for lifting restrictions and trying to restart the league. Secondly all the rest of the teams/supporters that might not want the season to be finished are all bitter. So if utd were about to win the league and they had not much to play for they'd all be screaming for the league to be restarted? Yeah right!

They are so myopic that they can't see that bar from a few clubs there is very little appetite to restart, potentially putting players in harm's way and as a knock on effect helping produce a second wave and causing next season to be postponed. I've read some of their comments saying that there should be no relegation and the teams in automatic promotion spots should be allowed to be part of an enlarged PL next season. So 1) how do you fit in more games with less time and 2) what happens if next season goes the same way, do we then have 24-26 teams in the PL for the season after that?

Even if they get given the title, which no qualms about it they deserve, they can't celebrate it. The people that usually go to the match won't get that moment of euphoria as they get the points required and lift the trophy. To me I would almost think it would be better not to have it and go out and win it next time when you can be there to see it. If they can round a square hole by somehow not voiding the league so they can be champions without relegation or promotion and someone doesn't sue, then good luck to them. If not then they have to accept they have been screwed over, just like we were in 85.

They will win it the next season anyway, I don't know what they are moaning about.

I do find it really crap that the top flight clubs seem more hell bent on finishing the season then the leagues lower down the pyramid when its them who will struggle to survive.
City with no champions league, new signings and some luck with injuries will be a different proposition in my opinion.

And obviously Newcastle will be up there challenging after their takeover with Rafael back at the helm.

I think this has to be considered, but not just from a team view, but from a players view.

Im not missing it as much as i thought I would, but I’d be fuming if they decide to rush the players back a scenario like above happens and then the players refuse to play until it’s over, or the Government rules it even further.

Cancelling the season gives hope of a September restart, trying to restart only creates issues.
Null and Voiding affects 3 teams, and only one directly really, and that’s Liverpool.

I can state this without sounding bitter, but that’s just tough.

I’d say let’s decide on European places, but the easy answer is there’s not going to be any European games. Self isolation for 7-14 days when arriving in a new city?

Look at Atalanta and Valencia, now teams will genuinely take a stand I reckon.

Thinking about this logically, every single team bar Liverpool should be for "void". We are now, what, 6 weeks in to the break? It's not even the same season anymore. This is the longest break the vast majority have ever had. A team in the bottom or middle or top-er end could have been ready to make a move but cannot because all their players are completely and massively unfit.

What's mad is we have schools shut, frontline staff not tested, jobs under threat and lives at risk but all the Premier League want is football back.

Our Government is bad enough but if they clear it for the league to go ahead after putting us under lockdown for weeks and the threat of a second wave, I honestly I think I might be done with football.

Void the league for sanity's sake
