Cancelling this season's Premier League

Should football be canceled until August and this season declared null and void?

This season is totally unimportant to the majority of people now so would be nice for a group of the "smaller" clubs to grow a pair and demand the league is voided or they'll all refuse to play final games due to UK Governments demand that no groupings of more than 2 people ;-) Go to Premier League/FA and threaten legal action if they demand change in seasons end etc and demand that all money is shared out equally by the 20 clubs and under condition all clubs donate x amount to each league under neath to ensure they are covered too :) No titles, placements or relegations and start new season in August when everything is sorted out hopefully ;-)

They’re all just playing lip service right now mate. We tried our best, explored every idea blah blah blah but in the end nothing was possible.

You csn bet everything you’ve ever owned that at last 90% of the premier league clubs will vote to null and void it when behind closed doors. They’ll all be over the moon to do so.

What tickles me is there are actually Liverpool fans out there who believe that there are genuinely clubs considering this idea, hee hee....bless them.

It’s like they haven’t looked outside and seen what’s going on in the world. They’re that brainwashed and clutching at any straw they may find that they might just get a title after 30 years.

It’s done, null and void within a week or 2.

They probably don't even know what's going on in the world cause they're too busy watching reality TV shows and wondering why the footy isn't on when they change channels to Sky and BT sports on Saturday and Sunday at the respective times. "Where's de game la! Can't get it on me tele, warra aba your box kidda ?" "Nah mate, nor on la, have de mighty reds won de league yet la. When's de parade like, we'll have t' gerout dear fordat like. Just have the watch de repeat of Judge Rinder for now la!"

Why just 90%?

I would say it is just one PL club against nineteen others :)

That would be 95% if my maths is right :pint2:

Independent isn't behind a paywall.lol

I left a snippet of the part mentioning the Government giving it backing if you can't get past the "Paywall"

Why am I be quoted out of context here?

When you look at the devastating impact on the Italian people, how could it be any other way? All football fans should join together and call for the season to end so that we can get through this the best we can.

Mate I think we all agree Kopites aren't really all that fussed about Italians.

As for this season, I hope every single club bar Liverpool vote against restarting and make it as obvious as possible.

The EPL seem determined to start in May and finish by July 12th in order to save over £700M in repayments to Sky, BT etc. Can’t have the rich clubs and rich players taking a hit like the rest of us can we........

it would be good if the lockdown was lifted by that point. If it’s not though then there’s no way the government can tell people to stay inside when they’ve sanctioned footballers to play rather remaining games.

So you’ve got years of blatant bias towards a set few teams in the league, a media that’s encouraged to create a big four then six and favour these teams, the founding of the PL to begin with, the ludicrous VAR circus with some very questionable decisions to certain teams and now a finish the season at any cost attitude. The FA might benefit from a little independent investigation methinks.

I’m not one for the “they’re a Kopite” shouts but come on....

lol

Damn!!!

That doesn't look promising.

The best chance to get a stadium was the Commonwealth Games like Abu Dhabi FC did.
I remember reading when Ancelotti took over at Bayern how angry he was that Klopp had poached Bayern's Fitness coach and Nutritionist who were part of Heynkes high energy Bayern team, that team was a pressing machine that conquered all.

Apparently Guardiola wanted to have the Nutritionist to work at City in a dual role as well as he'd work with her before at Bayern but that got rebuffed.
He's no where good enough to be at a top team in Europe.

We're are at his level, midtable, England won't win anything either if he's the starting keeper.

Sorry for being harsh but he's got so many flaws in his game.
Their owners had a plan ,fix the financial side after the mess with the previous owners, fix the recruitment, expand the stadium, get the best manager available.

They make waking up a sleeping giant look easy.
That Alexander has some delivery with that right foot.
They funded those 2 signings with a player they bought for peanuts and sold for the GDP of Uganda and bought those 2 players to fill gaping holes in their team.

I call that astute in how they bought a player under the radar who was discarded by Inter when no other big club so his potential, how ready made players did they buy world class, and how many would be deemed world class now in the team they have. That's the definition of astute recruitment.
We might have done it once or twice against them in midfield.

But the Crux of the matter, it wasn't their starting midfield though.

Sadly they have more than one way of playing now, it's not that gegenpressing with no plan B where they got found out by teams who sat back and frustrated them, now they can play in a myriad of ways now, and that seems to have come about after Klopp fell out with his longtime #2 and brought in another coach.
He was only at City for the home grown quota.
City have to win every game to reach 93 points.

Going against a team who have lost once in the last 61 games, who need 10 wins from their last 16 to reach 94 points.

It's over.
The utter myth Dortmund fought relegation in Klopp's Final season, they finished 7th and qualified for the Europa League and got to the German cup final.

I see this posted by United fans on Redcafe about Klopp's Final season and it's just so gullible , they had a unbelievable injury list and were bottom at winter break, after the winter break and injured players back, they lost one game in the league and knocked out Pep's Bayern in the cup and beat them in the league as well.
West Ham getting rid of Adrian looks more stupid by the day when they replaced him with that utter Buffon who made those clangers every week.
Their wage bill is £311 million including bonuses (CL win), and it's only 58% of their turnover, they are a financial behemoth now.

They should be hitting over £600 million next year easy with the increased TV money in the PL and CL.

One thing that does stand out though, their match day revenue (£88 million) lags way behind their TV (£261 million) and Commercial revenues (£188 million), something to mull over with BMD.
That was from

That's pretty easy to increase from a starting point of 18 million in commercial revenues.

As we stand now, our commercial revenues stand at 43 million, and that lags way way behind our competitors (RS, The two oil clubs, and United) who are in the 180-250 million range right now.
We are miles away from a top 4 challenge, sadly it's the harsh truth that dawned on us all today.

It's all ifs, buts and maybes at this point with the restart in May.

It's all subject to government and public health guidance. Putting alligences aside for a second, the DCMO this week said we would experience varying levels of restrictions for 6 months.

They reckon in 4 weeks time they are going to play football with 22 men in a confined space, sweating, breathing etc on each other, then they are smoking dope.

Let alone the gatherings of fans outside the stadium and all the entourage that comes with a team and the police and medical presence required.

Just call it and give them the flaming trophy, I'd rather that them any more people lose their lives.
