Cancelling this season's Premier League

Should football be canceled until August and this season declared null and void?

Yeah the more things that go, the easier and more likely the PL will follow.
I read Major League Baseball are going to pull the whole season, which should start this week.
They have a 162 game season, they could play a 40 game season and have the playoffs, most of the games in MLB the last 2-3 months of the season about 60% of teams are resigned to not being in the playoffs.

Looks like the government want it to happen as well to ease the nation going through a lockdown.

That much pretty nails it on happening now.
Where does it say the government want it to happen? " Hello Boris we know the country is in lockdown and every spare doctor, nurse, ambulance and bed is in use but me and the lads want a kickbout sound yeah?"

Chief Orc has spoken....what a nob head!

Me and me bro Jermaine think It's only fair like...

So basically the idea is to horde about 500 plus people including players, (both first team and sqauds), management teams, ref teams, camera crews, commentary teams, security staff and medical professionals (who're already worked to the bone without this laughable nonsense!) in some "hidden location" for two weeks and hoping that nobody will clock where it is and send hundreds of idiot fans (from all clubs, but some are certain to send far more them others!) to stand by the "ground" while the games are being played!

Now let's ignore the fact that this would blatantly flout social distancing rules for hundreds to possibly thousands of people and be shut down immediately by the government the second it was suggested. Lets ignore all that, I'd actually love to see the football authorities try to convince hundreds of multi-millionaire football players and managers that they have to endanger themselves and their families all to play the remaining games just so the RS can lift the league!

The stink of desperation coming Klanfield right now is nauseating! :hayee:

I think the sub-editor slipped up there.

That headline was earmarked for this coming Wednesday.

I've seen nothing to suggest the government want it to happen. Every game, even if it's played behind closed doors, has to have paramedics in attendance. Are the government really going to allow ambulances and paramedics to take time out from dealing with corona, just so the league can finish? Are insurance companies going to insure the players? Especially considering that players are in a high risk category for respiratory illness because of the way they train and the amount of games they play. This was brought up by the former Chelsea doctor, Eva wotsername and backed up using official studies and figures.
Honestly can't see the season finishing, no matter how many pet pundits and attack dogs LFC instruct to bombard the public with cries of "the league must finish" Then you have the players themselves. Most of them don't need the money, so why would they risk their own health and the health of their family and friends by exposing themselves like this. The police are already being over zealous in their attempts to keep people safe, and it's being touted that we aren't that far from soldiers patrolling the streets. We could end up with the ridiculous scenario of 22 multi millionaires kicking a football, with a hundred backroom staff per team in attendance, whilst at the same time a father trying to have a kickabout with his kids in the park will be at risk of being arrested.
